Ours is a phony one -- I like to put it up the day after Thanksgiving and leave it up several days after New Years Day, so for me, an artificial tree is the way to go.

I have an artificial Christmas tree. I know how fast the real ones burn up when they catch on fire! Another added benefit is it does not cost me any additional money each year. Which do you prefer, real or artificial?
