I S*ck at Promoting Ebooks. Any Suggestions, Please?

I've recently created an ebook. Creating it was fine and quite enjoyable, actually. However, promoting it is DEFINITELY not one of my strengths. I'm more of a creator than a promoter. Marketing stuff just doesn't come naturally to me. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY TIPS ON HOW I CAN GO ABOUT PROMOTING IT? I haven't been sitting on my a** doing nothing though. So far, I've: - created a good sales page - set up an affiliate program to go with it - created a MyBlog profile for it Any further tips would really be appreciated. Thanks. (p.s.: a link to the ebook is in my profile.)

Hi, Interesting sales page and blog :-) A couple of things I would do if it was my creation. Set up a new blog solely devoted to promoting this product. So create a blog related to writing and how to earn through your writing. Each post would have some element of writing - I, of course haven't read your ebook so I'm not sure what you have in it, but your posts may cover all sorts of writing related topics and how to earn from writing etc (you don't have to give away anything you cover in your ebook - rather you allude to what's in it) somewhere within some of those posts you put a anchor text hyperlink to your product that is keyword related eg make money writing (that is the link) You'd also have a little banner or something in your sidebar etc. Once you have that set up with a few different posts - write a whole new article that again covers earning through writing, that alludes to how it can be done but never actually gives all the answers away - and submit it to some free article directories (ezine articles, go articles etc) with a link to your writing blog and your ebook in the authors resource box Submit your blog to the social networking sites (stumblupon, digg etc) That's a few things to get you started.

Thanks for the compliment, re08dz! I really like your suggestion/s. Thank you. I have an existing make-money-online blog, so I think I might try it out there. I also have older posts on there about writing that I could rework, I guess. Submitting to article directories is something I've shied away from. However, I think it might be time to bite the bullet. Thanks again for the tips. I really appreciate it. take care...

You're welcome :-) Actually you might be surprised at just how well the article submissions can work. Not only can they bring targeted traffic to your blog/sales page they also give you some good inward links to your page etc which helps with the search engines etc. Squdioo lenses and hubpages etc also work in the same way - set up one of them for your blog and sales page - add the rss feed from your blog to them and they too will get you inward links and boost your search engine rankings etc.

You probably already know this, but I'll say it anyway...Get on as many social networking sites as possible and put the info out that way. Facebook, myspace... I keep hearing about "twitter" now, but I don't exactly know what it is, but the fact that I hear it being mentioned on every newsshow that I watch tells me that's it's pretty big.

theres another site that I know of. It's not like the other's I mentioned, but it still might be usefull. It's called wahm.com it's for work at home mom's. That site is how I found out about myLot.

Hi Miamilady, Thanks for your suggestions. I know about Facebook, myspace and twitter. I'm on twitter but I'm trying not to promote it directly as I don't want to seem too salesy. I know about WAHM (though I've never joined) and actually refer to it in my ebook! I usually check out the 'WAHMs Who Write' section. take care and thanks again...
