can i lose weight by replacing meals with coffee?

If you're going to do that, then don't do it for breakfast, because getting in fruit and vegetables around that time will help your weight much more (holding off eating will make your body store more of the food you have later in the day) and if you're going to replace meals with coffee, just don't use cream or sugar in your coffee. Those can make the coffee even worse for you then regular food.

You would be better off with soy protein shakes, if you wanted to replace any meals. You can prepare a variety of shakes by using either milk or juices & different fruit combinations to make every drink different and more exciting. If you don't have the time to make yourself a shake and need a meal replacement I would go with an occassional soy protein bar and plenty of water--but not everyday. I don't think that coffee alone will replace any of the nutrients your body needs. It will probably just make you too jitterty and eventually sick.
