Hi, I think that honest is the best policy. You should aways tell the truth even if people don't want to hear or don't want to get caught. Yes, telling the truth is not being mean. If you sdon't tell the truth to a person, you don't care for the person at all. Telling what lies to a person to not hurt their feelngs will do no good as well, they person maynot want to hear the truth than but appreciate you the truth later. Not evryone care for you tell them what lies because they will become upset taht you told a lie, no matter that you we not trying to hurt their feelings. A lie is a lie. You will lose their respect and trust. AT times you can dmage a relationship. There is always a way to handling in given situation which should apply truth in the equation. If the person can't handle the truth than than they can handling your kind of friendship. Wishin you the best, Take care

Well in my opinion if you are not honest you are not being fair to the others involved in what ever you are not being honest about. Being honest and being mean isn't really the same thing but I have friends who think it's okay to be dishonest if it will save someone's feelings. I have to disagree with that kind of thinking. I never start out trying to hurt anyone but I have to be honest or I have to keep my mouth shut. I won't gloss over the truth to save your feelings. Doing that will mean that down the road people will not trust my opinion because I won't be honest with them. Well that will never be me. So is honesty the best policy. Well over lying it certainly is but there are times it's best to just say nothing.

There are two different issues with honesty. Yes, you should be honest because your word is valuable...it's all you really have when you think about it...and if you lie or cheat...you lose respect for yourself and the respect of others. That being said, you shouldn't use honesty to hurt someone's feelings. It's okay to tell a small lie if telling the truth will cause someone else embarassment or pain.

All my life i was convinced that the honestity is the best policy, but now i am not sure that people apreciate to much when hear the true. Sometimes , somebody can say that you are agressive, or maybe don t agree with your true, is strange, but people want to hear what they want to hear, not the true. Any way, i will be as i was, i will keep my idea, that to be honest is the best
