Now, most of the days, my son sleeps vey late. So, i thought of bringing my laptop into my bedroom and do some extra online earning programs at night. After finished using my laptop, i thought of just putting it at my bedside until tomorrow morning. But my husband said it's not good for health. He said that laptop contains some harmful radiation to our health. I ever heard it but is it really that bad to our health? Can anyone give me more details? Thanks..

A turned off laptop is as harmful as a clock radio, you shouldn't worry about that. However working on a laptop in bed, you might block the vents that cool the cpu down and over time that might shorten your laptops lifespan.

Yeah, i never think about this matter at all. Thanks for reminding me about it. I don't want to shorten my laptop lifespan. Now, i prefer to put my laptop on my make-up table. I no more use my laptop on my bed anymore..

Hello myfb. After switching it off, I don't think that it matters much, but it is still safer to leave it somewhere on the table where you use the laptop instead of placing it next to your bed.

Now, i prefer to put my switched off laptop, on my make-up table. I even seldom bring my laptop into my bedroom anymore. I prefer to spend time doing those online earning programs, when i was in living room. I tried not to develop chronic back pain..Thanks for giving me some idea.....

I've never heard of a powered off laptop being bad for you. I have heard that using a laptop on your lap is hard on a man's reproductive system. I've also heard that laptops are bad for posture which to me makes sense ...having the thing on your lap and the keyboard so close to the monitor makes it rather hard for it to be ergonomic...and on your lap you tend to be looking down alot. The little damage builds up overtime until you're stuck with chronic strains and pains in yourneck, wrists, shoulders, and back.

Yes, i do felt the pain in my neck, wrists, shoulders and back, when i bend too much looking at the laptop on my bed..Now, i prefer to look at my laptop on my make-up table, whenever i bring my laptop to my bedroom..

If laptop is switched off i don't think it is dangerous to the health of a person. Only if the laptop is on and keep the laptop on the lap for longer hours may be the radiation may effect the lower portion of the body. It is also said that cellphone effect the health of the people against radiation if used constantly.

My husband also worry about this matter. That's why he doesn't like me to put the laptop too near to my bedside, no matter whether it's on or off. Yes, even cellphone contain radiation, which is not good to our health as well..

A turned off laptop is as harmful as a clock radio, however, you should be careful not to block the vents that cool the cpu when working with the laptop in bed. Blocking those vents might result in severe damage to the cpu and shorten its lifespan.
