Where The Wind Lives: summary help?

I've started writing a short story titled "Where The Wind Lives", but I've been having some trouble. This isn't a genre that I'm used to writing and the voice is completely different from what I usually work with. It's almost reminiscent of The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, if you've ever read the book. I'm about halfway through it now and people keep asking me what it's about, but I'm terrible at summaries. I was hoping someone might be able to give me some pointers? I'll post a brief summary below: When I turned eight years old, I realized that I was no longer a child. Desperate to keep what little bit of youth I had left, I set out in search of the person I used to be. They say that the best place to find something that's lost is where the wind lives, or so I was told, but no one seemed to know where to that was. So, with my reflection as my companion and a shooting star as a ride, I left home to find myself. And it kind of fizzles off there. That's the basic gist of it, but it sounds terribly boring from that synopsis and I just don't know what to do to liven it up. Any help would be very greatly appreciated!

I think it sounds great. Just put the famous three dots at the very end ... it will make it sound like your telling me a story and stopped just as it was getting interested, which will make me want to read more. At these that my opinion. Good Luck!

make an outline as you go along. if it is themed as soul searching, best to have characters that would depict each stage of enlightenment. observations from everyday life you would find inspiration for that. over a hot cup of latte, with a handy pen and paper to scribble a thought or two, it will come. i liked The Little Prince, and it was same book that inspired me to do MyButterflies. all said is best done when put on paper for others to read.
