Would you purchase a maintenance agreement from your gas company?

My gas company, Columbia Gas of Ohio, keeps sending me things saying I need to have Extra Service Protection (ESP--catchy, huh?) for my inside lines for $5 a month. Has anyone ever bought anything like this, or wish that they had? Is this a good thing to have? I don't mind spending $60 a year to save ten times that when I need it but a lot of these agreements don't seem to serve people well. What do you think? What are your experiences?

absolutely not. last time i purchased a "maintenance agreement" with a company, they let a problem progress until it became a dangerous situation. as far i know gas companies are supposed to do a certain amount by law for safety reasons,i would think anything above normal usage would be unnecessary.

I gather that I am responsible for the inside lines. I have money saved for incidents like this. The fact that they keep sending me material on it makes me think they see a quick buck from an easy target.
