The Average persons IQ has decreased quite a bit over the past years. Why do you think this is? Is there anything we can do to change this trend? I think I know the answer but I want to know what you think. Also one final question, does knowing this make you want to change anything in your life?

Are you sure you buy into the idea that the world is dumbing down? I certainly don't. Many are lazier than in the past because we know how to find what we want on the internet, so we don't absolutely have to learn it thoroughly, but that's quite different from becoming less intelligent. There's so much more to know in today's world than there was in the past, it's astonishing! I believe the range of IQ levels is probably about as wide as ever, but the knowledge base and its requirements are different than they were in the past.

I must admit, I often wonder what's going on in some people's heads, since they're clearly not doing any viable thinking!

I understand your point but its not a matter of buying into the idea the world is dumbing down. Its a matter of accepting the truth. Studies have shown it.

I have also seen a decrease in iq. some would say it is because of all the floride that is in our water. I personally don't think people care to learn anymore. Not sure really. I myself am a thinker and I have to keep learning. I think I would be lost if i didn't lol. Anyway alex jones explains his theory on all this. you can see his vids on youtube.

I think it could be that we have evolved to the point that we have no real challenge. What I mean to say is that without any natural predators we have the choice to choose not to breed. Typically the upper class members of society either have small families or no families at all. Devoting their lives to work and acquisition. While the lower class seems to have a natural talent for having large families even when it's far out of their means. Without the ability to pull oneself out of an impoverished situation the lower class typically passes a higher education to raise a family at a young age and moves into the lower end of the work force. the cycle continues and continues world wide. I saw an excellent comedy about this theory called "Idiocracy". It is a hilarious movie.

That is one of the main reasons. There are generally 2 main things that motivate us in this world, fear and greed. Without natural predators we cannot be motivated in this way by fear. So we are forced to be motivated by greed. While some levels of this greed are good, many aspects of greed have very negative affects.
