Will you tidy your bedding?

Hi my dear mylotters`I just argued with my wife that if we need to tidy the bed everyday when we wake up.My point is leave it there DON'T tidy the bedding as it'll minimum the number of acarid,do you know why?According to my google research, keep the bedding every time you wake up can obstruct the fresh air and humid air run into your beeding which is the must element that acarid survivial, say your bedding will be dry after one or two hours and the acarid will die.Hence I will try to do this`~while my wife insisited in at least laying open the bedding~say it looks better`~ So,my friends,do you understand my point? Will you try to leave your bedding there other that tidy it?Or what's your reason?

I've heard the same thing that you should let your bed air out for about an hour or two with the bedding opened up. Then you can make the bed. Sometimes I do that but its hard since I have always gotten out of bed and either go brush my teeth and then make the bed or as soon as I get out of bed. I'm going to try to wait an hour before making the bed. When I change sheets I air out the bed almost all day and turn the mattress.

I'm out of work right now so I can wait an hour or so before making the bed. When I worked I always made the bed right away. It would have to wait for the weekends for me to. So the weekends are good enough! Take care!

According to what I've read, you shouldn't make your bed right away after getting up. You should leave it unmade to let it cool off and dry out. A bed that stays warm and humid can be a breeding place for dust mites, which can cause allergies. As a compromise, maybe you could leave the bed clothes open to air out for a few hours, and then make the bed later in the day.

i don't alway put my bed clothes open to air out ,because the sun can let its light to my bed directly. i am so happy that i left the house that not see the sun. and i hate the damp in the bed room .

I make our bed every day, I do not make it as soon as I get up, as most will advise you to not make it for at least thirty minutes, I do pull down the top sheet and blanket and let them air out, while I do my makeup and hair etc. I also make up my childrens beds every day, so four beds every day. I change the sheets on average twice a week as well on all the beds.

do you wear dirty clothes, then treat your bed like your self, give it new sheet ever week or two times a week. tidy it when u are awake allow the freshness into it, dust it off with another sheet when u ready to sleep again, if you can open your windows so that it gets fresh air do that, forget about acarid because that would not kill you. its not that dangerous for causing allergies.

I have not ever had any mite or tick infestation in my bed. Not any other insect either My husband is usually still in bed when I go to work, but he makes the bed when he gets up. In the winter we use a heated mattress pad, and that would kill the acarids if we had any at that time of year. In the summer we are hot and dry.

I just leave the bed as it is. Afterall, we're just going to sleep it in again at night. LOL My husband and I are not very organized, and we just leave things as they are. No one comes into our apartment but us anyway, so we just leave things the way we are comrortable leaving them.

Dear friend, From my child days onwards I was practiced to make clear the bed after I wake up in morning. May be this practice has been continued even now. I would just keep the bed tidy in morning soon after I wake and there are very rare times when I would just leave the bed as it is, in that case the servant in our house do the tidy works of the bed.

I do not like to make up my bed immediately after getting out of it but I just felt that way. I didn't know it was a suggested practice. It must be tidied though. I also love to put my bed linen out to get some sun . It feels so nice and warm and smells great when I do that. During spring cleaning the mattress also gets taken out for some sunning. I tell you I really look forward to diving into bed when this is done.

I hadn't ever thought about the dryness and leaving bedding open. My husband and I don't even have nice, matching bedding at the moment, but we need to get some. Once we get some nicer stuff, I always assumed I would tidy it up.

I have never heard of so many reasons not to make your bed as in this discussion and comments LOL. I always tidy up my bed, I usually get up before my husband, after he gets up and has coffee I will go upstairs to get ready for the day and make the bed. It is no big deal, it is so warm here that I don't even have a bedspread on it. I just tidy up the sheets and fluff the pillows. I wash all the bed clothes once a week and usually once or twice inbetween washing I spray them with Lysol in that nice baby fresh aroma to keep them smelling good.

No, I don't do the bed as soon as I wake up. Yes acari are nasty. That's also the main reason why I don't do the bed immediately. I also run out of time and my husband wakes up some time after me, so I would have to leave it for later. Help against acari comes thanks to steaming the bed and bedding and changing the sheets regularly. I also don't put clothes in the wardrobe immediately after taking them off. It's a way of preserving clothes from other nasty creatures. But please, don't fight with your wife for that!

Yes, I too have come across this recently, that keeping the bed unmade after waking up, keeps the sheets cleaner for a longer time. The sheets dry out fast and the fresh air works wonders to keep it germ free. But I dont think I can do it...its of course a childhood habit of seeing the bed made every morning and I have been doing it myself...cant really see the rumpled sheets and pillows lying like that..the entire room looks so unkept that way. I think I'll continue with making the bed every morning.

I hate to say this but I never make my bed up. I haven't in years. None of my kids beds are even made up. I guess what started this is when I was babysitting at my home and I did not have the time to make any beds up. My girls used to would make their beds up in the mornings and then they even quit doing it. When I quit babysitting I got out of the habit to even make my beds up.

Hi, I aggree with you.I think your view is right. Everyday morning when I wake up,I don't tidy my bed at once. I will keep the bed for about one hour and then tidy the bed. So I think it is not good to dity the bedding at once when you wake up. After one hour you can tidy the bedding. Have a nice day!

I would say the same things as all the others that respond, but really i don't care that much. But seeing as everyone else is showing there opinion i should also participate, so no, don't make your bed in the morning, because you should wait for the heat to dissipate, that and i myself don't have the time in the morning to waste doing it, so WAIT TILL LATER.
