Which dog breed smells the worst?

We're thinking about getting a small dog, who would mostly be an indoor breed dog. The dog would go outside on occasion. I'm not big on dogs that have a bad smell. I don't mind normal dog smells, but stinky dogs are a no-no! I have heard that some dogs like Basset Hounds have a bad smell, even after bathing. Not sure if that's true. What type of dog smells the worst?

I think smell has more to do with the dog and it's environment than which breed it is. My Mom's Chihuahua-Pomeranian stinks constantly, even shortly after a bath, but she also runs around outside and rolls in dirt. My Akita doesn't smell, except for a short time after he's really been running around in the heat. Dog are like humans- some have more BO than others! I really think the only way to prevent smell is to watch their diet and keep them properly groomed.

I don't know, I have a pug and my parents told me my pug smells very badly. My mum would always touch and massage my pug and said he has bad smells, but funny enough my mum like addicted to his smell and keeps smelling him, like checking his smell all the time. I find I like the smell on my pug, maybe it is bad to others but I like it myself. That's very strange but I don't know, at least no one knows I have a dog if I don't tell them in the first place, which means I don't have very bad smell of dog on me when I am out.

I don't know about breeds and their smells being different but I do know about older dogs having the old age smell about them. None of them can help it but old dogs get that old smell about them and when given a bath, they'll smell better for a little while then they're back to smelling like an old dog again. I have one who's like that and he's 10 years old, will be 11 in July and I know he most likely won't be around for much longer so I just love him all the more because he's been such a wonderful dog.

a poodle or a mini pincher r great small dogs and easy to care for, train and walk. They usually don't smell except when they r not cleaned around their private areas. They have a good longevity. REMEMBER ALWAYS LUV YOUR DOG/PET THEY WILL ALWAYS LUV U..

Well I'm not sure which breed smells the worst, but we have two chihuahua's that go outside. They don't smell that bad, except for when they went into the manure field, but that's been awhile. Chihuahua's are small, some people say they aren't good with small children but I'd research that, for the most part chihuahuas are just skiddish.
