I have had many dogs in my time. I bought, trained dogs and sold them. My personal dogs the longest I have had a dog form 8 wks old to 13 yrs old a Rottweiller named Gheyske'. I treat me pets like my children also, there i said it. However, I do not let them eat what I do, specially pork. Pork fat is bad to homans worst in dogs. It takes long to digest and doesn't break down very well, but all things bad like our kids what is bad is good. This is a question that only you can answer. People that like big dogs, working hunting and all other things that big dogs do, if you are not going to do any of those things don't get a big dog. SOME!!!!!!!! PEOPLE r very inconsiderate when it comes to animal waste. Before I take my dogs for a stroll I let my dogs out to do their thing, THEN, we go for a stroll. Training does marvelous things for your pet. For those few, TRAIN YOUR DOG.. Then we have the very brainless who take their dog for a stroll to poop with out a bag, grow up.. youu don't deserve that pet... REMEMBER ALWAYS L...

I don't know WHO told u Jack Russels r not good with children under 6 or cats, but they don't know what they r talking about. My daughter has children under 6 and a cat and no problems. She had the dog before she had the children also, dam there goes that mith to, don't u just hate when that happens. As far as what breed to get, in canada there r 296 Purebred breed of dogs listed in the CKC...

The addition about dogs pets I place on all my responces... What I meant was another animal might have peed in the spots before and the puppy can smell it. If u show the puppy to go outside insted of in the room he will hold longer and wait to go out..
