Looking at one angle the success of other people may not negatively affect us. There are at least three positive impacts arising from the success of other people. 1) Their success can be a form of motivation for us to improve or modify the way we do things so that we can achieve at least the same level of success. 2) Their success wave can initially carry us together if we are prepared to work together with them. 3) Their success can open up other opportunities for us to exploit and be successful in.
