I realize this discussion is a little old, but thought I would comment on it anyway, because it sounded like an interesting topic. One of the best movies I have ever seen in called "The Game", starring Michael Douglas. This is an edge of your seat thriller, without all of the violence. Michael Douglas is one of my favorite actors, so I may be a little bit partial, but I am sure if you see the movie you will agree that it is one of the best films ever made. I hope you found something good to watch, but if you get the chance, I hope you'll see this one.

I just recently watch the movie Australia. Take place during WWII. It has Nichole Kidman, Hugh Jackman,She is a so called rich woman that go to Australia to sell her husband's ranch. Hugh Jackman plays a drover. At the center of the story is a little half cast boy played by Brandon Walters. The do gooders want to send him to an island to be educated. He is a real cutie and as far as I'm concerned he stole the show. I was surprised at how good the story line is. It is one movie that I would like to see more than once.

There's a movie that I also want to watch "The Proposal" starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds. From the trailer I saw, I know this is a good movie, light romantic comedy that can make you relax inside the theater.

I recently saw the movie "The Notebook". That is one of the best. I am not going to tell you the description about the story. Since it a simple romantic story, you will not feel the essence of the movie once you know the story. So just watch it. And get back to me after that.

Taken is a really good movie. It's about a retired "preventer" (as he is called in the movie) who used to work for the government. His daughter is kidnapped in Paris and the movie is basically his journey to get her back. It's full of action. It stars Liam Nesson(I think that's how you spell his name) Freedom Writers is another great movied based on true events. It's about a teacher(played by Hilary Swank) who makes a great difference in the lives of children who the school system and society have basically given up on. They have become victims of the streets and abuse, but their teacher sees something in them and fights for change. It made me cry. A Time to Kill is about a black man(played by Samuel L. Jackson) who is put on trial for the murder of the white men who raped his young daughter during times of racism. Love this movie. These are just a few to start you off. If you would like anymore suggestions just let me know. Hope you enjoy the movies!

I recommend any of the Scary Movies, or Epic Movie- these are all parodies of the famous movies of their genres. They were written by the Wayans brothers so they have a lot of dumb humor, but if you want a good laugh, they are pretty good. Zodiac is also a good movie. Robert Downey Jr plays one of the main characters. It is based on the series of murders by the Zodiac killer in California. The Shining is always a good choice too. It is about a man who agrees to be keeper at a hotel, knowing there will be no way out for the entire winter, and he goes crazy. I also recommend any Japanese Horror flick, if you can do sub-titles Ringu and Ju-On are both really good.
