Many book based films are released nowadays. What do you think really on this. Are they keeping the standard of the books? Films cut short many important scenes in the books. When i saw 'angels and demons' film i once again came to notice this. Many important scenes in the book are avoided in the film? What do you think of this matter?

it's a shame that some books are made into films and the director doesn't include scenes which are important to keep up with the book's original plot.I have seen "angels and demons" and though the film was good, the book was much, much better.that's why I prefer reading the books first before watching the movie adaptations.some movies are interpreted thru the screenwriter and the director's understanding of the book.

when they make a movie of a book they do leave so much out. i don't like to see a movie of a book i have read but it is ok if i haven't read the book yet

I am sure that many films that are based on books get made into movies because they are best sellers. I am sure the screen wirters to try to stay with the events in the novel itself, but sometimes it is necessry to change somethings around for the sake of cariity or bervity. this is too keep the film short. there are somethings that can be tralated into film easer than book and vis versia.
