I'm curious...my fellow mylotters/parents, If you could teach only one lesson to your child/children, what would it be? I always feel like i'm trying to teach my kids all these different things, ie: do this, don't do that, etc etc...Sometimes my daughter gest overwhelmed..hahah..I think If I was only allowed to teach one lesson to my kids, it would be to be good to others...How about you?

I think that the one lesson that I would teach to my children is to treat others how you would like to be treated. There is so many other things to teach them as well it is very hard to narrow it down to one lesson.

Hi littleone - I know what you mean. As a parent, you try so hard to mold your child properly and teach them as much as you can. I feel like everyday i'm telling my kids to do this, and not do that and stuff like that...I wish there was a book that had all these lessons in it and I could just give it to the kids and say 'here, read this..' hahah

My children have alot of knowledge. I have taught them so much in their short years. If I had to choose just one thing for them to carry on for the rest of their life is: Always treat people the same way you would want to be treated. It's hard trying to do this as expessially my 5 year old is very very rude! She does not like to share or get along with her younger sister. She always wants to play with her older brother. I know it will pass soon enough. So, I am expessially trying to get her to treat her sister the way she would like to be treated in return.

It's difficult for me to say there is one lesson to be taught to children. Always taught our girls to be honest and reliable. In my opinion, being honest and reliable is part of being good to others. I think those two go hand in hand. Nothing more frustrating than to have someone lie and you know they are lying. I have a neighbor who gets caught up in her lies constantly. All I can do is look at her. Most of the time I simply agree and walk away.

Love. Simply love. Know it, walk in it. Don't be a doormat. Be confident. Be exactly who you are in this life. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

If I could only teach one lesson to my children.......... That lesson would be that I would tell them to trust theirselves... To believe in theirselves, I think that trust and believe is pretty much the same thing and it goes hand in hand. That is the one thing that I would teach them above everything else. Happy mylot!

Your right we are always trying to teach them different things. I also tell her to be good with others but I think I will teach her something else. I already try to teach her to love her self and that will be the lesson I will teach her if have to pick one. Because I belive that if we love our selfs we will love other and I know that when we don't love our selfs we will try to make others feel bad about them selfs.

I quess the one thing I would teach my child is lessons the people back in the bible time taught their children about the Lord God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Teach them that and should have everything they need to suceed in life.

the first lesson i tought my child is to be nice to others unless they hurt you, and never let any of your rights to be taken from you.
