Do you think taking risks is a dangerous activity?

If we don't take risks, we become mired in the dullest of routines. We have to be careful with risks, they can, indeed, be dangerous. But if we at least try to consider the consequences, risk spices up our lives.

No, not at all. It's never a dangerous business to take risks. Taking chances is one of the most liberating experiences in life. I wouldn't even have second thoughts. I don't like a nagging feeling in my head that says, "I should have..." or "what if's" to drive out all doubts people should make a choice for an unknown outcome, hoping that things will turn out the best. Since every persons take into a huge consideration of brainstorming before a decision, I just think its a good idea to try something new beyond your boundaries... beyond the comfort zone, coz then and only then that you'll discover wonderful mysteries in life. What you say about trade and stock market, its not mere risks, its serious risk - a gamble coz you know in the back of your head that you'll about to lose something. When a person takes risk on normal life activity, its much easier coz the risks involve are "not material" meaning you know that you won't lose that much unlike in a gamble. In a gamble the chances is absolute 50:50, but in real life its proportionate to your willingness to go through something... the amount is indefinite and immeasurable but there is still a good chance to rectify an error once taken.

A neighbor who once engaged in stock market ended up selling his house. One must be keen on stocks before taking that risk. Another person I know became very, very rich just by bidding in stocks. No matter, it is all right to take a risk if you can take the consequences. If not, don't.

I don't think it's a dangerous activity. We know that high risk high return. If we want to have high return without spending many times, so taking higher risk is the only way. But we shouldn't forget that easy come easy go. How someone see this thing is depend on his character. I think we must wisely when we want to take a high risk activity.
