Hi friends!!! Actually, I am about to shift in my new bungalow and have an empty area there beside my house. So, I was planning to make a small garden over there. Does any of you like gardening or have any idea what trees should I plant and how to begin with??

I forgot to say that my hubby grew tomatoes here in Maine, he said they require a sunny spot, and watering everyday, and either a pole or small cage to cling to as the vine grows. This is a great time of year to plant them. It's best to buy small starter plants. Be careful with planting trees to close to your home, as they grow they could fall over onto your vehicle or home. Good luck with the gardening!

If you live in the desert, cactus is easy to grow, but wear rawhide gloves to handle the cactus. Some varieties of cactus are actually very pretty. A rock garden doesn't require too much maintenance if you're away from home a lot. Unfortunately I don't have a green thumb for gardening, I have two brown ones and 8 useless fingers, lol. Do you want to plant flowers or vegetables?

Gardening is a good hobbies and past time. It also beautifies environment if you are having flowering plants. Tree that i remember i do plant is mahogany. It is tall tree if you just let and you can use for building houses. If you have enough space planting tree is okay because it can help during raining season that the roots can help but must be also taken care of and cut some bulky branches. Have your seedlings with you and plant it in a small pot or whatever is available if you are to plant tall tree you have that space before considering, while flowers are not that really need so much space.

I have a small garden but it has been cold and nothing has had time to grow. Unfortunately I don't know much about planting trees so I can't really help you. However, it would have been helpful if you described where you lived so people knew what kind of trees could be planted in your area.

It's so nice to live in a house with garden. I live in the city but i planted some flowers and aloes, i really enjoy it. If i had a garden, i would plant some fruit trees, cherry is my favorite because it is tasty and the flower is really nice. I would also plant some vegetables, i like home grown vegetables a lot.

We are fortunate in that we have a big garden and we are always planting vegetables each year, today I went out and planted some runner beans, spring onions and radishes which the family like, during the Summer we all like to eat salads and most of the salad is from the garden, so it's all fresh and organic. I am not keen on planting flowers or trees as you cannot eat them! I like to see the results of my labour in the garden.

It depends on the plant you are growing, for my vegetables we make sure the ground is weed free and moist, fortunately the vegetables we grow are easy to grow and look after and we always have a good crop. Also make sure there are no stones and away from trees as well if possible as trees suck up most of the moisture from the ground.

Okay, gives me an idea of what I should plant. Are there any pre-preparation to be done on soil before you begin planting?? If yes, please share.
