It is at times you would find your computer hang out and you are unable to do anything but curse your vendor. But at times its not that a serious fault, like I have experienced. The computer doesnt boot up due to some technical fault, its nothing but the RAM, just open the box, remove the RAM and clean its golden teeth with a rubber! And believe me its the best way to clean it. You will find the computer boots up faster than ever!

well you are right but you know in 90% cases its due to virus. When you plug pen drive, if it contains virus, then sometimes your comp hangs. So either use a updated antivirus or use DOS(command prompt) to clean the virus. If during your work your comp hangs then the only way left is to restart it again and use Command prompt to check drives.use the command 'dir/ah' it will show you the hidden files and viruses present too. Even if this dont work then you first check inside part of CPU, u might find a lot of dust, clean that using a blower. Doing all this part sure helps u in getting out of problem. Enjoy.....

Well, I doubt many people will open up their computer and clean, although I must say it have it advantages and disadvantages. The advantage like you said is to maintain the computer. The fan inside the computer is always very dirty and will affect its ability to ventilate the computer, leading to overheating of components. The disadvantage is that it is not easy to take out the parts and clean them. Such delicate components can be easily spoil. So my advice? Just leave your computer alone. Maybe by the time your computer starts to slow down or breaks down, better computers are in the market and it may be a time to change your computer.

If RAM has become faulty , the system wont boot and there would be a continues beep sound. Its a good practice to clean the RAM but proper caution should be taken as static energy from the human body could damage some parts from your system, so always wear anti-static belt or nulify the charge before replacing any of the component. Take care.

Nice tip, but be careful in cleaning some parts of your computer. I already experienced this "discharging-currents" when cleaning some parts. My board were damaged because some electric current from my body were discharged somewhere in my board.^_^.. Today, I always use non conductive protection when cleaning electronic parts.^_^
