hi everyone! i would like to ask if you are always reading labels of products you are buying, example when you are on a grocery store, are you checking the labels of the products that you're buying? like checking the expiration date, the contents, the nutritional value and things like that...are you? me not all the time, when i am buying canned goods yes i always check the expiration date but with some products i didn't check i just get it and put it on my cart... but i think it is always better to check and read the labels of the product we're buying to ensure safety...what do you think? thanks and have a nice day!

I make a point to check everything I buy. I turn every egg in the carton to make sure it isn't stuck, I always buy the milk with the latest expiration date. When it comes to processed goods, like canned or frozen foods, I check the ingredients before buying. I am not a fan of a lot of sodium and preservatives in food. Most of the food I buy is fresh, not canned or frozen. I try to buy organic whenever possible.

oh wow! that's very good i think... me too i am not really a fan of canned goods packed with preservatives! as much as possible i always try to buy the fresh one but still i make sure that it is really fresh! especially on meats and fishes...when it comes to fruits & veggies i wash it very well before consuming to make sure that it will be safe...:-) thanks for your share on this discussion! have a nice day! :-)

I always check the Nutrition Facts of the products I'm interested in - whether I'm buying it at that moment or not, as long as I have to time to. I want to know the general content: how much fat, sugar, carbs, and total calories per serving of course. I'm still getting used to determining which is good and which is bad. When I get better, I'd probably look at the ingredients too (although I sometimes do look at that section). I also generally don't buy stuff that don't provide nutrition information because I don't trust manufacturers that don't make it a point to inform its customers of what their products contain. Thanks for the response on my discussion :)

hello oyenkai! i agree with you, i think it is always better to buy products that have nutritional information on its label its more trustworthy, but i just have some problems in understanding some thing s that are written on the nutrition facts, can't they make it more simple...i always want to compare product depending on their nutrtion facts but since i don't understand some, it becomes harder for me to figure out which is better to buy...

Not always. There are certain brands to which I am loyal, I buy their products every month so for these, I don’t need to check out the labels every time. Otherwise if I am buying something for the first time, I check out the labels for the pricing, weight, price, expiry date etc.

Yes, I do check it most of the time, but not always esepcially if I am in a hurry to buy and leave the place. I make it a point to check the labels especially when I buy things which will be good only for a short period of time like bread, meat, etc. I feel very bad to waste food items. Once I had a medicine for worms, which had gone out of validity time. It was sitting on my table and my mom was keep on asking me to have it, but I didn't take it. On a sudden I thought of having the tablet and had it. It was out of time and it created allergy to me. There was itching and swelling on my lips. After that I make it a point to check the label before purchasing and before having it.

Hi Ckyera, I don't check it all the time. I mean, i won't check that detaily, but i will definitely check the expiration data! Because what we eat is the most important thing to our life! I think sometimes is good to check out the detail like how many % of the sugar or fat or something like that!

It's my must-do when i purchase something. Especially the expiration date. We should check it whenever we buy a product for consume. I think become a smart and thorough person is one of healthy lifestyle. An expired product usually the substance become toxic. And it's very dangerous for our health. Some sellers due of careless could still selling expired products. We can't 100% blame them. Just tell them kindly if we find expired products on their store. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Usually I will read the product label before buying a product, especially the expired date and the nutritional facts. For the ingredients used in the products, i will just glance through it as I do not understand most of the terms in these part.

hi!i am very paticular when it comes to my son's foods especially his milk and breads. Here in the philippines most promotional items include additional grams/items for free to attract more buyers. And as a responsible consumer, you have to check for whatever catch is hidden, some products drop their price real low but would expire the next day. For others who dont practice product/label check will just be surprised to see molds on their bread right after just a day of buying it.End-result?they didn't actually save cash but actually lost it over a product they didn't enjoy. Another important thing to check;if you're buying meat that needs to be weighed and priced manually..before leaving the shop, check if the price was really intended for the type of meat you bought. A few days ago i bought pork ribs at the price of p180/kg.When they gave me the meat i saw the price and it was astonishingly higher than i expected it to be...p263/kg.When i read the label, they priced it after baby back ribs so i returned it and they apologized for the miss-out.

hi quincy! thanks for sharing your experience and now i realized that it is really important to read labels not only to canned goods but also in anything that we're buying so that we will ensure not only the safeness of the product but also to make sure that we're paying the right amount for the product that we're buying...thus makes us a wise buyer and spender... thanks and have a ice day! :-)

Yes, you are right! I always check the expiration date first and other details later on when buying food and beverage products in a grocery store. Because there are chances that the owner forgot to take out the expired foods. My advice is always buying the products in a grocery store or hypermarket that you already trusted.

yes i agree with you...its always better to check on the label especially on teh expiration date...we can't really tell just by looking at it if its already expired or not...and even some of our trusted stores might have mistakes sometimes...so its better for us to check it our own...

I always check any products before buying it for the expiration date. It is important for that. I don't want a product near or already after the date. Then, for new products that I want to try, I'll check the labels for content inside. There's some item/food that can't be eaten in my religion. it is important to check it carefully as I am responsible to feed everyone else in the family too.

I check everything new I'm buying. With exceptions like milk, eggs, yogurt, etc. for the expiration. I'm vegetarian, so I also have to check labels on new foods that I'm getting. The only time I don't it when it is actually labeled vegetarian.

Well, it depends on my mood and on the item. Sometimes, I do check the labels, expiration date and nutritional contents and sometimes not. If an item is for my child, then I always take note nutritional contents and even compared with other brands before purchasing.

I read the labels at all time! From food, to cosmetics, toiletteries, laundries and everything. I don't want to purchase expired item neither will expire soon. Some shop keepers do not allow to return, therefore I'm a lil careful before I spend my money.

hi, i think its not right for the store to have a no return policy, especially if their goods have something wrong and if they are the one who made a mistake... but i agree with you that its better to be careful when buying anything...so that we didn't end up wasting time and money! thanks for sharing...have a nice day!
