Hi friends... I'm just wondering if drinking coffee on a regular basis affects your fertility.. I've heard a lot of versions but not too sure which to believe. I've been married for nearly 3yrs now and i'm still not pregnant yet. A lot of my friends said that it's because of my coffee drinking habits. I did try to quit though but it's hard for me as i've been addicted to black coffee since i was a teenager. Can anybody here pls help me out? Does coffee really affects your chances of getting pregnant?

I used to drink 4 or 5 coffees a day, and if at work, then about 3 from Starbucks - so a lot of coffee! I was addicted. My husband and I were trying for a baby for two years with no luck. I thought I would give up coffee in January and see if that helped. In March I found out I was pregnant and I'm expecting a baby this October! So I think it would be worth you giving it a try.

Relax...Enjoy the relationship with your husband...relax, and focus on other things in life. If you are to have a child...it will come naturally..in it's own time. Oh,...did I mention relaxing!! lol

I don't think so that coffee can affect ones fertility. I have some lady friend who are coffee addict and they got pregnant easily. I think you musk seek a doctor first for fertility test both you and your husband.

Hi.. Actually we did went for a test and turns out there's nothing wrong with us. My husband has four children from his previous marriage so i keep thinking that the one with problems is me.. Thank for taking time to comment.

Negative. But anything too much is dangerous. So regulate your caffeine intake. Getting pregnant will come in time. You are being pressured by your friends. Tell them to refrain from commenting about you being or pregnant or not.

Hello.. I'm trying to limit myself to juz 1 cup of coffee per day. And as for my friends,i think maybe you're right. They said that out of concern but what they don't realise is the impact their words have on me.. Thanks for your input.

I agree that coffee in excess affects fertility. It is great that you limit yourself to one cup a day but is that "one cup" a proper size, i.e. 6-8 oz cup or one of those monster cups. As well there is caffine in food like chocolate so you have to consider all your sources of intake. Caffine is a chemical that is not made by the body naturally so ingested it especially in excess is harmful. It throws off the other naturally occurring hormones in your body and could delay or prevent ovulaton or implantation. Keep to your one cup but make sure to spend time enjoying the drink so that you don't crave more. I drink my one cup a day in solitude while reading a good book. I am also on cycle 4 of trying to conceive my 3rd child. Good luck to you.
