Although belonging to a family with High Blood pressure (hypertension) increases your risk of also developing one, you can still modify this. Hypertension is more of a lifestyle related condition. If you modify your lifestyle in a way, to lessen your risks, you can avoid taking medicines (per physcian's advice ofcourse). Just like any lifestyle related condition, the triad of treatment will always include: 1. Proper diet 2. Exercise 3. Medicine maintenance (if advised by physician)

Remember, though, that a lot of generic medicines prescribed today are based on, or derived from, natural plant remedies that were found to be effective years ago. Atenolol, aspirin etc have forms that are all found naturally. Many plant extracts open up the blood vessels, which will lower BP. But often these can have bigger side effects, and potentially cause more damage, than carefully prescribed conventional treatments. If you're not on antidepressants, try St John's Wort - it reduces stress and anxiety, and has a side effect of reducing BP. Avoid licorice, which sends it sky high. Swimming in cold water is a brilliant way to reduce BP, as the core body blood vessels open up to keep the body at the right temperature for exercising.

I have inherited hypertension (I'm not fat, I exercise, don't smoke or add salt to food etc)so have to take pills as the natural/lifestyle remedies don't work for me. But it's done me no harm to go for regular refreshing walks, get myself a pet to cuddle, and start writing for a ... no, scrap that last one. I'd say, anything that opens up blood vessels - maybe even a hot chilli (which you'd think would have the opposite effect but doesn't, apparently) I'll get back to you on this - my daughter will know, she works in a health supplements store.

eat fried garlic, fry it to the point of it being crispy but not burnt. make sure that you strain the gralic so that you won't ingest added oils. Drink a lot of water if it's not contraindicated. try to get some exercise, eat a balanced meal, refrain from eating fatty and salty foods, try to relax, if possible, sleep at least 7-8 hours. do all of these and i'm sure that you will have a normal blood pressure :) don't forget to go to your doctor for check up :)

I think the best way to control ones BP is to keep yourself cool and calm and avoid any kind of stress. As far as home remedies are concerned I have seen vegetable juices are very good to avoid high and low blood pressure like bitter guard juice, amla juice, lauki juice.Use salt in less quantity as it could raise your blood pressure level,Go for regular walks and do some yoga which are helpful in dealing with the situation of blood pressure. But most importantly be positive and happy.

Dear friend , Yes, garlic is the best source of reducing amount of cholestrol in the blood vessels. My father had high blood pressure for years and for years he took roasted garlic in the morning. Apart from that take very little salt in your diet and lot of walking exercises.
