Do you always keep your pet's collar on?

I have a 9 months old puppy, I used to always keep his collar on when he was smaller but I always take it off now because I always feel he acts uncomfortable with the collar on, I only put it on when we go out now. What about you?

I use to keep in on when he was younger but now at 11 years old I haven't kept it on him for about two years now. I just put in on when he goes for a walk. He is free to run around the house and the backyard.

In my home country each dog must wear an identity disk on their collar. My dogs both wear collars and they have been micro chipped. That means if they ever get lost my details will be known. I have to remove the collars for bathing and grooming. I think they find their collars comfortable.

I have an 8 week old pup, I just got her a week ago and I bought her a harness type leash. She has had it on since I put it on her at PetSmart. At first she wanted to scratch at it because she was not used to having anything on, but she is doing fine with it now. I have always kept the collar on my dogs before, so this one is no different. It just takes them a while to get used to having it on all the time. You might want to make sure it is the right fit on him.

Maybe he just doesn't like the chain on it. Thanks for sharing! :-)

My dogs all have regular collars. They have had them since they were puppies and they are 2 and 4 now. So they are used to them and they don't bother them. My dogs are outside dogs and we keep collars on them in case we need to tie them up for some reason. For the most part they run all the time but there are occassions we need to chain them temporarily so it's pretty easy to just hook on to the collar.

We leave the collars on our just as a precaution for if they ever did get out. They dont seem to mind having them on, and it doesnt show that they are in any discomfort infact when i do take them off the bath them or something they come up quite happily to have them back on. I guess it depends on the collar and the dog

i have dog and he has a very bad habit of running from the house....i live on the ground floor of my building so he will it near the door and whenever he sees that no one is watching him he will quickly run out and play with the stray dogs.......he will go with them and when we cal him back he will not come back....i know he like to play but playing with those dogs is also not good.....so i have to keep his collar on so that he doesn't run.......

our girl has a spike collar and so it comes off every night when we go to bed. But our boy has a regular collar and it does not bother him so it comes off every time he gets a bath and is put right back on when he is dry.

Hi, I have a 2 year old miniture Red Dachshund and he hates his collar, he bites at it all the time and his id tag he chewed his name off, so I just keep the collar off in this house and when I take him outside for walks I put on his collar and leash he seems to not mind it on for walks, however as soon as we step in the house he goes for the collar and tries to bite it off and I have to hurry up and take that thing off of him. He really is a good house trained dog and spoiled by me. All of his dog toys are destroyed he loves to chew on things.
