Sometimes we think to be unfortunate because we don't have the car, we don't have a lot of money, we don't have a pc and other things... I sometimes think that if i don't had this thinghs maybe i would be a little sad, but when i see on tv the people that is without food, the children that die for hunge I think that i'm very happy, I have food, i have my parent, the love of my family and this would be enought for me.... what do you think?

I had a friend who did missionary work in Peru...and he told us that he went there thinking that he could help those people who have nothing...but in the end, they helped HIM. He found out that they are very happy people with the little they have, because they had no idea what it felt like to have more than that. They lived a very simple life with no complications, no modern technoligies to compete with, no cars to maintain, and all were dressed in the same way. There was no peer pressure to have what your neighbor had because neither one had anything more. However, here in the states, we have too much...too many things are available to us, and pressure to have those things takes over. Here in the states, we preach that you can be anything you want to be, have what ever you want to have, if only you strive hard for it. That automatically puts pressure on any young person entering the adult world. We may be a land of opportunity, but the pressure that can often go with it, can make you sacrifice the simple pleasures of life that we forget exists.

I definitely agree with your way of looking at things. Just because I don't have all the material items doesn't mean I'm not happy. I have my health (for now at least!), a wonderful fiance, my grandparents that tolerate me visiting once in a while, and most of my loved ones are still alive and we're still on good terms and they're supporting me at every step! This may not have a monetary value, but it's worth everything in the world to me, and then some!
