Have you ever been surprised by a Movie

Have you ever watched a movie with a feeling that you weren't going to enjoy it for one reason or another only to be surprised by how good it was when you finished? I felt like this with "8 Mile", I really didn't want to see it as I was not a fan of Eminem or his music. But by the time I finished watching it I thought not only was it a good film but Eminem's performance wasn't half bad.

Hi there! I felt that with 8 Mile too. Well, I was a fan of Eminem but I was expecting that it would be like Spiceworld which will just showcase the artist's talent and wouldn't have much substance at all but I was surprised and there were lessons to be learned in 8 Mile.

That is exaclty what I expected, just another film created showcase Eminem's talents which was part of the reason why I never bothered with it. But it certainly has a good storyline which gives it the substance. Many thanks for the response.

hi buddy. I had the similar feeling with shawshank redemption. Initially i felt like its one worst movie but at the end of the day it made me nostalgic. I was taken aback by the climax. I wish everybody should watch that movie. Cheers....

I had the opposite feeling with 8 Mile, I thought I'd like it, and in the end it stunk big time! Last night we watched Georgia Rule. I was beginning to think we'd have to turn it off because of how boring it was getting at first, and that girl was just so annoying in the beginning I only continued to watch to see if she got her butt whooped! In the end it turned out halfway decent.

I've had that happen with a few horror movies. I was surprised when I saw Stay Alive in the theater; I thought it was going to be a waste of time and (someone else's - I got dragged along) money. It wasn't half-bad. It's not my favourite film by any means, but I got through it without feeling miserable.
