The Bible is the word of God because it says so.?

My young nephew had written a small book about Santa Claus and he said he was inspired by Santa Claus to write it. It is the word of Santa Claus. Does a book become the word of Santa Claus just because the book says so? Neither can the Bible be the word of God just because it says so.

No it can't be the word only because it says so. For that we have to use our God given brains to see if it is actually a word from God. For me the Holy Bible is in fact the word of God (not completely preserved in original form) Because the Holy Quran says so. Now I'm sure the Bible will have proof enough on it's own to prove it's a word of God but that I leave to my christian brothers. The Holy Quran is the word of God because: - It has no contradictions or mistakes - It gives lots of falsification tests to prove it's right e.g try and find a single mistake or try to make a single chapter similar to it. - It has numerous scientific miracles proved only now by science e.g The Big Bang theory, internal deep sea waves, embryological development, Quasars ....etc many more. - It has lots of fulfilled prophecies. - It gives the perfect solution to all practical problems e.g Hijaab, polygamy, zakat, prayer, peace etc. - It was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who was an exemplary Human, who never lied even before his prophet hood (according to History books).

Just the statements again ? No proof again. Come on man come up with something to think about why do you just keep on saying it is mistruth without proving it ? Even when I look into myself for real spiritual truth (and not spiritual hypothesis !) the Oneness, the creativity, the power and the perfection of God is all I find. And no one has proven to me that the Quran has a single mistake, no one has convinced me that it is not from God. On one side all I hear and see are just ignorant claims with no proof and on the other hand I see guidance and light with tons of proof ! I don't know why I shouldn't believe in Islam and the Holy Quran.

Hello Frederic42!!! It is clear from your question itself. Just because your nephew says that his book was the words of Santa Claus, which is perfectly the imaginations and the personal feeling is not really the words of Santa Claus. The same thing goes to the Bible too. I admit that Bible is very nicely written, and numerous important things are written there in Bible. But to accept Bible as the pure words of god is senseless in my view. For me, it is stupidity to just go on saying that Bible is the world of God. The writer has really captured the thought of many people... Happy mylotting...

Sure it is, look at how much people for over 2000 years have been declaring that it is. Could so many people be wrong? Suppose it is false? Do you think that all these people can reverse their stand on the subject? No but they could treat it as the King in his invisible suit, parading the street naked as the day he was born, with everybody saying "what a beautiful suit" it is.

I for one agree with you. It is nothing more than a book. People believe in it because of its appeal to the mass (how many people follow it?).
