I think when a person is young they look forward to birthdays. As you get older you start to not want to have a birthday and may be you dread the day each year as it comes around. Well, my birthday is coming up soon and I "dread" it. I do not like to celebrate it. I do not like opening up presents. I do not want to be in the spotlight and have everyone's attention on me. As the years roll by, I really wish we could get younger rather than older. I am not sure why I feel this way. I am grateful for every year I live but yet usually the older you get, the more medical problems you have, and that is one thing I don't look forward to.

You can stay young and all you need to do id to travel a lot in your mind and keep yourself up to date with everything and yes the first thing which will help you is that you have to drop the idea of becoming old because if you continue to think so then you cannot become young. So once you think you are young then the rest is perfect around.

Well, I do think that I am young at heart and may be I have longevity in my family. My father just passed last year at 94-1/2 years old. I am and was grateful for every minute of his life. They say you are "as young as you feel" and that is okay as long as you do not develop any medical problems. I understand what you are saying, and I think you have a good attitude about the situation. One has to be grateful as each year passes and they are still living and have their health.

I felt just the same, looked forward to big parties, candy, and more years, but now later i like more of a quiet dinner than a big noisy party, but well, it is still nice to be remembered on your birthday! :)

I think birth day is for enjoyment and to distribute some happy it does not matter how old are you? but as you said when older age person shows do not interest to celebrate birthday I think this is just because of financial problem

Yes, I used to enjoy my birthdays but that was when I was younger. Now I just don't like getting older. It could have a tiny bit to do with finances but mostly I just don't want to get older because I know there comes a time when you have to say goodbye to this world and I don't want that day to come.

The last birthday that I actually celebrated was the worst day I ever experienced in my whole life, by far. I don't think I can ever have a more blue day than I had that day. That was the last one I celebrated. Think it was a decade ago, or more.

When I was younger, I always anticipate for my birthday to come because that is the day where I will receive a lot of presents and gifts from friends and family. Back then I could ask for anything I wanted and also have the best food that I don't usually get to eat during normal days. But now everything changed,I am already 19 and I don't really anticipate for my birthday yearly. Because when a birthday comes it symbolize that we are getting older by a year and we are nearer to the end of life and we are getting older by physical appearance. It is a good thing that we are getting more mature but it also means we are having more heavier responsibility. But of course we have no power over aging and hence life goes on....

When I was a child I was always excited about to my birthdays. I loved the presents, the birthday cake and everything else. Now I am an adult and the presents not very important to me, and when people ask me what I want for my birthday I often don't know what to answer. Other things have become important to me and other things make me happy. The thing I like most about my birthday is the time that I spend with my relatives and my friends, and I get especially happy when I receive birthday cards from people I don't talk to very often anymore or people that I thought I had lost touch with.

Ya, when i was young i also always wished that the days can pass faster and then my birthday comes faster. Birthday seemed to be a day that every children look forward to. However, as the years passed by, i found that time passed too fast, that we are really growing older each day. I come to really realised and understand the saying, life is short, we should really appreciate and spend our life meaningfully. For one moment we have wasted in feeling sad or unhappy, we will lose that moment of happiness and lost it forever. Life has no 'U-turn', this is another saying which is very true also. Thus, we should always remember to do the right things, do not regret and take charge for everything that we've done. Have a nice day, and great birthday to you too!
