Anyone else have cold spring water under the sea?

The beaches here are lovely but even on the hottest days the water always seems cold as there are lots of natural spring water holes under the sea. Yesterday I swam in the sea but about 40 kilometers from here and was amazed at the difference in the sea tempreture, it was beautifully warm. It was also amazingly salty though which I've never noticed in the nearby sea, apparently the cold water springs reduce the saltiness of the water.
