Do you think that mirrors show your imagine as it is? More fat or more skinny?

Hi, Icesmile! There's one mirror in my house that's very old, and I think it's become a little bit warped. It makes anyone who looks in it seem tall and thin. What fun!

I think it depends on the mirror, and the mood you're in when you look in it. If you're in a good mood when you look in the mirror, then you're bound to feel more positive about the way you see yourself, but if you're in a bad mood, then you're more likely to feel negative about it. It is a well known fact that shop mirrors make you look slimmer though, because you're more likely to buy the clothes if you're happy with what you see in the mirror. If you think about it, if you're unhappy with the way you look, and then went into a shop to try on some clothes, you wouldn't buy them if you got into the fitting rooms, looked in the mirror, and then didn't like what you saw, would you?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So if you have a problem with your image you will likely see what you want to see, either to fat or too skinny. If you are in doubt as to whether the mirror is actually reflecting the truth or not just hold something up you can compare. If you hold up a telephone book does it look normal or does it look too fat or too skinny. I think we tend to let our minds get the better of our logic. Now if you are at an amusement park and you check yourself out in a mirror I might not trust that image. :)

that is not about true image and false image or the missor is showing how you are feeling....it just depends on the construction of the mirror ..if the mirror is flat and straight it will show the true image ....exactly the way you are looking...but if the mirror is bent slightly it will show you fat or thinner ....long or short......haven't you ever seen yourself in the funny mirrors......they show disfigured you and you laugh......the image in the mirror also depends on the lighting condition if the light is strong you see good image and if the light is weak ...the image is rather hazy and you don't look good......trust me ...i am a physicss student and if the question was rather meant to be philosophical or morale based , then i apolozise for the long unhealthy explanation

Is true, here is talk about mirrors only. Quality of a good mirror is something what make difference between prices. A very good mirror is very expensive, even we think that all mirrors are same, they are not. Is a difference between a ordinary mirror and a cristal mirror, a cristal mirror with a good silver quality make a mirror to be very good quality or not.

I think people see what is in their heads. If people stopped having ideas of how they think they looked, and just looked at themselves as they were, they would not see extra fat, a person that's too skinny, or any other little problems they may think they have, but don't really have.

I believe I look more skinny in the mirrors in my house as when I get my photo taken I always believe I look fatter.

Well there are different mirror images, I'll agree. I think it' about finding a mirror that you do like--because sometimes it's not about what you're looking at but what you see, and how that makes you feel. It's important that you're happy with what you see, but at the same time see what you could improve on--and a good quality mirror should provide you that ;)

yeh, mirror shows different imagines,I agree.Mirror don't tell lie! I don't believe it.Because in different mirror(even Plain of same company)I see different images of mine.sometime I look so odd that I hate myself.

hiii dear friend..nice to meet you here..Mirror will the image as it is..And also there are some morrors will show the fat..There are many kinds of morrors..But the image which we use in the homw will show the image as it is..By seeing the morror we will make up..Really mirror is very usefull for us..I will use the morror daily to see my face..Happy mylotting dear frined..have a nice day...keep smiling..cheers..

Mirror, as it is, will display reflection. But for me, mirror will display what we want to see. The good, the thin, the ugly or anything, will up to us. Mirror simply display it, it's up to us to see it. That's why the more we look at it, the more we try to improve ourselves.
