Hello friends, Cellphones have become an integrated part of our life. Wherever we go our cellphone follows. I can't even sleep without it near me. Do you sleep with your mobile phone besides you? Well, I asked this question to many of my buddies and many answered in the affirmative. What is your answer?

Hi, xpertcomments. It's true that cellphones have become a dispensable part in our daily life. Wherever you go, you see people using cellphones. Compared with a landline, a cellphone is much convenient. We can bring it with us wherever we go. It almost seems that we can't live without cellphones. I'm not a cellphone addict. I prefer to use the landline because the radiation given by cellphone is harmful to our health. Research shows that the radiation can cause many fatal diseases like cancer. We'd better take care of ourselves when using cellphones. The way to protect ourselves from being radiated is putting your phone at least 1 meter away from you when you do not use it. Putting it too near such as beside our pillow is extremly for our health. Take care and happy mylotting!

We seem to overlook the fact that cellphones emit radiation. Maybe the addiction is too much. Anyways, thanks for the advice.

Am I the only one with a 'landline'? I keep in in my bed! I sleep with it in my bed, it is a queen size bed so I know it won't fall out. But I also have my laptop in my bed also! lol I keep everything in my bed! there is also one one of the Wal-mart carry hand baskets in my bed with all kinds of stuff I use daily in it. My bed is like my office. I kinda live in my bed cause I am sick sorta. I have a rod that goes from my hip to my ankel from a bad knee replacement that didn't take well. I am 2 inches shorter. But other than that I am okay. I can do almost everything else but not bend my leg.

Hi Xpertcomments! I keep my cell phone with me, while sleeping. I use it for alarm bell in the morning. Also, it is used to see the time at night time. Moreover,if somebody is calling me or sending me instat text message, I can see it easily at my own convenience (I mean I need not go to attend the call, like I need to go to my land line phone, which lies elsewhere). Cell phone has become part and parcel of our life and we all have become habitual to it.

Yup! I always do that.. Don't know why but I have become very much addicted to my cellphone so day or night it is always there beside me.. I keep it beside my pillow when I sleep, though I have read it is not safe to keep the phone so close all the time, yet I can't seem to take it away. And also I put my alarm in the phone so may be that's another reason I can't seem to keep it at some other place.

Before it was always like that I would take my mobile with me when I would get in bed and I would placed that next to me or to my pillow because I might be getting a call or a message but recently My dad has taken my mobile because he found me always texting my boyfriend whom he dissaproves so I am living without a mobile for more than one month and believe me before it was a nightmare to me to be seperated from my mobile but now I am getting used to do not have a mobile though I continue to talk with my boyfriend as he calls me home at a specific time. I know my dad is a bit angry and he will be okay later so I will not be rude to him because I can live without a mobile after all.

I do sleep with my phone beside me but I put it on the bedside table. I place it here because it serves as my clock too. I think it is common nowadays to placeyour phone beside you in bed but of course there are the risks taht you might sleep on it or it might fell off the bed.

That would depend on each of us. Not all of us have the same priorities in life. Yes cellphones are probably the most personal and important communication device ever invented. I used to turn off my cellphone years ago. I didn't see any use for it to be on. Nowadays, I keep it close to bed just in case of any emergency that requires I have to get up and answer it. It can be annoying really. But if you wanna keep yourself updated with a lot of things. Like my kids are on the other side of the planet. So when it is night from where I am, it's obviously day from where they are. I keep it on and close to bed just in case they need to call me. People's priorities are different you know and some may find it quite annoying to be around. I know this from experience and I responded to an emergency to an immediate family and I was glad I had it turned on. Cheers!

Yes I must admit to having the telephone beside us but we have the landline extension and yes sometimes the cell phone but it is only because we have elderly parent and brother who are not in the best of health at the moment. Mind you we also kept it because my Sons partner was expecting our Grand daughter and they would ring they said day or night to tell us. Saved getting out of bed to answer. Oh and she did arrive safely but it was in the afternoon

Yes, about 14cms away from the bed hehe... It's easy to reach when there are messages or when it rings while I'm sleeping, and of course, my alarm. :)

In cases like emergency calls, which I hope I won't receive any AND I do sleep until morning and sometimes, late morning, you know hehehe... So, generally, did you mean you only keep it beside you at NIGHT time while you're sleeping?

I do sleep with my cellphone beside my bed, only because I use it as an alarm in the morning. If I didn't need the alarm, it probably wouldn't even be on. Just as if I still had a landline, I wouldn't answer the phone while I was in bed and let the answering machine pick up. I've had friends tell me to call them "any time" because they sleep with their cellphones.

Yup, I use it as an alarm too but I switch the phone off (the alarm will still work anyway).

I only have a prepaid cell phone that I keep to use to make long distance calls or in the event of an emergency. My cell phone is not THAT important to me as it is for many others I know. When I sleep I have a phone by my bed but the ringer is not turned on. The phone downstairs has the ringer on and if I am not awake to answer the phone the answering machine picks up and records the calls message for me. I hate being woke up in the middle of the night by people accidentally calling the wrong number. Unless it was an emergency there is no reason anyone would need to call me in the middle of the night. When someone leaves a message I usually can hear it slightly through the floor without getting up to answer the phone anyway. My daughter sleeps in my bed and my sons room is connected to mine so if the phone rings in my room it would wake both of them up while they were sleeping and I wouldnt want that.

I sleep with my cellphone, even though i never expected a call or a text. I am used to take my cellphone with me wherever i go. You know their may be an emergency calls and if i fail to accept it. I may blame myself forever, especially if is from my beloved family. I see cellphone as important part of my lives and every member of my family have cellphone. Some sisters even have dual cellphone or dual sim. They are really like to get in touch every minutes or maybe every seconds especially if they have unlimited plan. They will call or send texts which is pretty annoying sometimes. But, I gladly accept it as a friendly communication and as a sign that I am in touch with them and makes family bonding stronger.

I can't sleep without my cell phone beside me....you never know when it starts ringing and i get sms all night long.....recently i was sleeping and my phone slid beneath me and my sweat went inside. Though it was a new set and under warranty, still i had to pay a fortune to get it fixed. It so happened that the company doesn't pays for the liquid imbreach and unfortunately my swweat was also considered liquid. My keypad was gone and the display screen was ruined but still after getting it fixed i sleep keeping it beside me.....i think its addictive.

Oh heck no! I actually am one of the few people that hate my cell phone. When I first got a cell phone (way back when) I loved it. I loved the fact that I could get ahold of someone and they could get ahold of me. Now, I can't stand that someone can track me down regardless of where I am at. Yuck! If I slept with my phone I don't think I would ever get any sleep. Lately I even turn off my cell phone about 9:00 just to get a break.

With the frequency of communication, cell phones just like keys or purses become one of the necessary stuff. Without it, we can`t imagine what if somebody has emergency call. And at same time, we keep it at bed when we fall asleep. I have the news that cell phones can emit some sort of radiation which can do harm to human body. No matter true or false, I always set the phone off line and put it near my pillow as a clock allam. Because I cannot get up on time and always late for school.
