it has been raining for what seems like forever, my dog smells when he gets wet "wet dog" smell im sure all dogs smell like that. My husband was going to give him a bath last weekend, and my aunt said not to give him a bath because it would make the "wet dog" smell worse that i shouldnt use any soap on him that i should ust house him down and towel dry him off and that it will keep his coat clean, dry and shiny... She said that i shouldt use any dog shampoo or soap on him that it could harm his skin.... My question is what is the best way to get a dog clean?d bathe him in shampoo and soaps designed for dogs or hose him down and towel him off? How often are you supposed to bathe a dog? we just recently got a dog and he is white/golden color and has a beautiful shiny coat, and id like to keep it that way. thank you in advance for any suggestions that you may have...

We usually give our dog a bath once every two weeks. We give him his bath in the bathtub and then dry him off with a towel and brush him. We lay a towel out on the floor for him to lay on as he dries the rest of the way. Make sure to keep them brushed and use pet cologne for them every now and then.

hi! for me i gave my szitzu a bath thrice a week. coz my son loves to hug her so i want her to smell good and always look clean. Actually giving a bath to a dog depends on you. but atleast make the dog smells good and keep them clean. make sense? :)
