Have you taken pictures in a forbidden area?

While visiting a park in the Mall of Asia (MOA), me and my friends take pictures. It was dark already but still many people are there. The time was when David Cook and David Archuleta are having a concert in the MOA grounds. Me and my friends found a good spot for taking a picture there. We saw a circle area rich with grass. We decided to take a picture there. My friends posed as I hold the camera. Just a second after clicking the camera we hear the whistle of the guard on the park. We laughed as we discovered nobody should put their feet on that circle of grass. Here's the pic taken there: http://wrangel15.multiply.com/photos/album/30/YPs_meet_in_Manila#52

I think you were playing with fire. If you were told not to take pictures in a certain area, you could have asked the guards or the ones in charge where you could take pictures. And you should have asked first. It is obvious that perhaps that area had been seeded recently and if you had put your feet on it, the grass would have been damaged. You were lucky and you definitely should not have laughed. What if you were visiting China? You might have been thrown in jail or deported.

Thanks for the warnings. Now photography is not just about taking pictures but also about places where to take pictures :)

Yeah right, they're lucky enough they never have any penalty. So better next time, always look for the sign and read carefully before doing such thing heheeh.

I only ever did that once, and it was totally by accident. I didn't see the "no pictures allowed" sign. It was at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC. I guess the flash harms old artifacts and all. I'm amazed my camera didn't get confiscated, or that the guard didn't say something when he saw the camera hanging around my neck.

Now I know that flash from cameras can harm old artifacts. I also heard that it can damage the eyes of tarsiers (animals that can be found here in the Philippines). Anyway, it is good my phone does not have a flash. I can even take pictures unnoticed because it does not have a flash and it is in a phone. :)

Yeah...in lrt2! i guess i FELT I'm too cute to step-out from the prohibition. about 60% of my conviction believed that it is prohibited, the other 40% run by my guts...so i took photos believing that I'll not be caught, to good to be true! the lrt guard took the liberty to remind me of the rules.

I have not taken a photo where it is forbidden though I love to take photos a lot. Whenever I travel somewhere, I love to take my camera with me for some shots that might interest me. Thank you for the photo you took, friend.

The grass's part of the landscape. There is 1 foot high fence surrounding it but no sign is saying Keep Off the Grass.

No not yet,im camerahollic but i always look around and read the signs. Some places they allow photography inside the houses, castles and museums so it means i can take photos but there's a sign for no picture taking then it's a time to buy a gudie book and keep my camera inside my bag hehehe.
