My fiance was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in April as I mentioned in another post. Shortly after my oldest step brother passed away from Liver Cancer which was devastating for me. I found out today that my aunt was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and my Uncle, her husband was diagnosed with both Lung and Prostate Cancer. I am just stunned by all of this and am not really sure what to think about it. I was always aware that Cancer was a very serious disease that didn't discriminate in who it "infected" but jeez. I also have noticed more and more celebrities dying from this horrible disease. It make me wonder what is causing such a rise in people being diagnosed with cancer.

I am really so sorry to learn about so many of your family memebers being diagnosed with cancer. It is alarming that number of people affected with this disease is increasing day by day. I would like to know if you are going to marry your fiance or not.

Thank you for your response. I do intend to marry him. Him having lung cancer doesn't change anything especially how I feel about him. I understand how some people would second think that decision but I was in love with him before the diagnose and I still love him just as much after it:)

That is why nowadays many people change their foods intake to herbs type or foodstuffs relevant to anticancer formation and building. Many already discerned themselves about the benefits of it, but why during healthy not seriously put in action. I don't think so that no one never heard about "Prevention is better than cure". This is the major problem in our community life. Once ruined then think. To your prime question for "what is causing such a rise in people being diagnosed with cancer?." Easy answer, we will meet doctor after we got pain. Where routine medical check up is a secondary thing in our community life. Right or wrong about it, result already speaks itself in everyone's mind. The perfect undeniable fact in human life.

I agree with you but sometimes I think also financially not everyone can afford going to the doctor on a regular, needed basis. Sometimes people feel badly and if they have had a hard week at work or just anything they also write it off as just being tired.I would love to know of a good place to look for good ideals on an anticancer foods and so on. It seems though everytime you turn on the news something else is linked to cancer from hotdogs to perfume.

Me too, understood the points of life excuse laid out by you in your follow up comment. Meaning that, the government must encourage and emphasis end users and farmers go for foodstuffs produced from hydrophonics and organic plantations. Where family home base type for small cultivations can be done through hydrophonics system for small quantity daily intake, especially, the well known anti-cancer, tomato.

Is that a fact about tomatoes by the way? I have read so much lately concerning cancer causing and preventing foods and habits that it is maddening.

hello celestos, I'm so sorry to know that your fiance, even your Uncle, Aunt, and your step brother has cancer. It's really so painful to know abot that. We are in the modern world and it all depends in our own lifestyle, the food we eat, our vices and the likes. Since it's in your genes I think you need to take extra precautions to avoid it. Prayers can make a difference too. Hope your family can recover from it and that they will be well inno time.

Cancer indeed is a very serious illness. I had just past and survived this cruel illness just a year back. I had cervical cancer on year 2007. I believe it is driven by human life style and diet. Long time ago people doesn't use preservatives and many more instant ingredients but due to we are living in a very high tech world. Many of the foods we eat had ingredients that can cause cancer and so it isn't healthy to eat outside home every time. Another thing is that, cancer is hereditary. If we have previous history from family members then we should take extra care of our health.. We can prevent this from hitting us by having a healthy diet and watching what we serve on the table. Let's make it a habit to serve less preservative meals.

I am so happy that you are a survivor that is truely wonderful. The one thing I have noticed also is that it seems the treatments for cancer have evolved alot from how they were 20 years ago and that is a hopeful thing. It seems there are alot more people who survive and beat cancer and that is a prayer answered in my opinion. I agree with you about the diet completely.

Oh, that is horrible, I'm so sorry for you and your family! I don't know if there's more cancer nowadays--people used to die of "wasting disease" in the old days and that could have been an apt description of cancer, but I don't think it was as common as it is today. I think we are probably seeing more cancer today not only because of our advanced medicine but because we have messed up our diets. People used to eat what they wanted but it was mostly natural stuff grown locally and they all worked hard. Today, we have so much processed food with so many additives and hormones! And we don't really work hard so our bodies aren't in good shape. We drink more, we smoke, we have polluted air, we drive instead of walk, etc. Cancer is cells going crazy and I really think that what we eat has a lot to do with it. I hope your family members and your fiance recover.

I wonder sometimes if it isn't also caused by the steroids in our meat which you kinda said that(hormones)It is something we are doing or eating and it is affecting way too many people. I have been stunned by how many people around me have been diagnosed with it and it really is a helpless feeling. Thank you so much for your kind words I appreciate it.

I apologize Celestos. I participate in sorrow and concern over the incident that befall the people nearest you. According to what I know, has cancer cells present in the human body since birth. But humans have the antibody. When the antibody weakened, cancer began to undermine human's organ. So, in certain conditions, the human need to add additional food to strengthen the antibody. Consume such as tomatoes, etc.. Let us recognize symptoms of cancer, and anticipating the start.
