So much for the video scandals

After months of being so noisy about the video scandals, involving Kho and Halili, our TV screens now show not so much of the scandals. Not so much news are being aired. But one of the biggest TV networks in the country is very proud to showcase Maricar Reyes, which is one of the girls in Kho's videos. What do you think made Reyes came out in the open, and continue her showbiz career? How can she easily forget what Kho had done to her, as a person? Or the network is just so powerful, that they can make anyone forget the past of an artist and make her shine again?

My opinion about this is that the choice to go back to showbiz was that of Maricar and not of the network. The Network is just supporting MAricar, as a talent, and as an actress. I guess MAricar just finally decided to let go, move on, forget about the past and just kept moving forward without even giving a comment or a public speech about the issue. I think it is a wise decision compared to Katrina's continous fight and plight againts Kho and Belo. Maricar just decided to go on with her life. And I adore her for that. A very brave young woman.

Dear Joiemarvic, You may have a point. Well actually, Hayden had told in one or some of his interviews about moving forward. He thought that the two girls may have already moved on. He wanted to move on too, for he thinks that he still haven't. Maricar maybe tougher than Katrina and she faces life more practical with the help of the network. Neil

niel i respect your opinion when you said if that happens to you, you'll be disappearing forever. yes you can either change location or disappear forever as what you said (i don't know how can you disappear forever). but you can never erase the fact that you have done it. you can relocate yourself but you cannot disappear the fact that you are involved into something like that. the only best thing to do is to be strong and face it. not all people will judge you. some will even support and admire you if they sees you are changing and trying to correct the wrong doings who have done. what ever actions we have in the past will not be the basis of how we will run our future. blessings!

Well, dignity seems to be a missing word in some Filipino nowadays. And that's what loses and was never concerned a bit. In the old days, rape victims are too ashamed to come out in the open as if they are the culprits and they are to be blamed for being the victim. Now, a doctor was just exposed of indecent act and she has still the guts to show her face in from of national television. Don't get me wrong. I am not blaming Maricar at all for the fiasco created by Hayden Kho Jr. and company. It's just that I can't really understood how a Filipina can do as what Maricar is doing right now despite having your supposed private moments exposed to the whole world. Am I too old now still looking for the old Filipino values? Well, I am not ashamed to be one.

Dear eichs, I am not that old but not so young too. It maybe more acceptable if you just get away of the public. I am not also blaming Maricar but a lot of people will think different ways. Their supposed private moments should not be exposed and it's really so embarrassing and if that happens to me and my lover, whoever she is, I may disappear forever. Neil

i think maricar is doing what she thinks is best for her. what do u expect maricar will do? hide and never show her face again? this woman is a woman of substance and character that despite what had happened she still can stand and prove to us that what she did should not be our basis for judging her. And this is not new,, remember maggie dela riva is also a rape victim but look at her she still works as a normal person, she anchors and co-host a program at ABC5's Dial M program. whatever who've done in the past that compromises your values and believes should never be a hindrance for you to succeed and continue life in the future. let us not be to judgmental on maricar, since she remained silent regarding the issue, its just a matter of respect that she might be asking for us. and i think morality is not an issue here, she never had an idea that she is being taped. for if she have known it, i think she will never allow such thing or she could have done it the other way.blessings!

Well! We know some of the T.V. networks that trying to makes their network increase viewers. This networks look after those names that they know hot in the eyes of the public. See what happen to charise, isn't that deny this girl after not winning the contest in their networks. But when charise, reach the lime light and shine world wide they get it again. In what purpose? To raise their audience or tele-viewers? More actress and actors leave that networks and shine to other network today. If they know that actress not effective on some occasions they ignore it instead develop it?

I don't see anything wrong with Maricar, going back to showbiz despite the scandals issues. I strongly believe that whatever was in the videos... she did out of love. The only thing that was wrong about it... is that, it was done as premarital. Besides, whether or not she knew about it, it should've been kept private. Not her fault at all. With her in the showbiz again, and the possibility that ABS CBN gave her a big offer just to come back... I think she deserves it. I am pretty sure that it took her a lot of courage to show her face again in the public.

Definitely. She's really a tough girl. I can see that she is really a great actress too, and the network will do everything to bring her back to the screen.

I've read on the Yahoo news today that Dr. Hayden Kho wants to apologize to Maricar Reyes for what he has done. I'd say that's water under the bridge now, the damage has been done. It's good Maricar has moved on, it's what everyone should do. I wonder where Maricar gets all the courage to face the public again? But what she did is a good move, she probably realized it's not going to do her any good if she lets this whole thing mess up her life forever.

Dear doryvien, One night, I saw the news with one reported interviews Kho. And that's what I heard from him, he wishes to apologize to Maricar. But the time might not be right for now and still he does not know how to start. If you will see Maricar in TV right now, you will never can tell that she was the one in the videos. She's tough and confident. Very brave. Neil

i think maricar is just a good actress for her to be trusted by a giant network. ABS CBN as a competitive network has to look if they are marketing something to their talents or not in order for them to give and plan a certain project. in the case of marikar, this giant network believes that she can carry out her role in the projects given to her , after all they are one's who will benefit from it. marikar is strong that is why she has come out in the open, to prove that what ever she has done has never affected her in terms of her acting prowess. no one can judge some one because of her actions, what marikar did in the video is done all purely out of love which she never think will be abused by some one she trust. i think it would be hayden kho's come back in the open will be very difficult. how can you trust some one like him who can deceive you? trust is something when gone cannot be easily restored.

Precisely, the network is trying to prove that they rule, at least in the local network wars.

Although that past would be there to haunt you but that is if that would allow you to haunt you. People would tend to forget easily if the victim herself would not show she is affected by it.
