Today is the first day I have been able to speak since having a pollop removed from my throat and told not to speak for 2 weeks!! How did I manage for 2 weeks with 3 lively boys I hear you gasp. Better than I thought actually, with the help of a whistle to call them! I was allowed to whisper but not use my voicebox at all. Once the kids were within whispering range it wasn't a problem and they have been as good as gold considering! I am sure most of my friends and family were releived at hearing the news that I wouldn't be able to talk for 2 weeks! My middle son was in hopspital about a month ago having tubes/gromets put in his ears and they told me not to wash his hair for a week or take him swimming for 2 weeks which was difficult to hold back from doing too. What is the hardest thing you have been advised to stop doing on a temporary basis by a professional person?

You asked how to add graphics to discussion, I assume you are talking about the emicons like smilies and stuff well you will be able to use them as soon as you reach 100 posts or is it 200? I can't remember but when you reach one or the other you will be able to use them - hope this helps!!

Hi there! Two weeks without talking? Wow for me it's a torture hehe. Anyways, I might be stopping for a week on something that I really have to do, and that is to give my pet dog a bath. I give him a bath twice a week but now that he has an anal infection, which resulted in an open wound the vet advised me not to bathe him until the wound has improved it's condition. I need to clean the wound though twice a day. He has been smelling quite not good hehe. It's been almost 2 weeks since he hasn't taken a bath cause the time he had the wound was he's bathing schedule. I guess I just need to bear with the smell. I sometimes use my sister's DKNY perfume to prevent him from smelling to bad hehe. Ciao!

I applaud you for the great job you did with your boys! I'm also glad to hear that your operation was a success (I'm assuming!) I don't have any stories to tell you at the moment. At least I can't think of any. I just wanted to wish you well and congratulate you on your 2 weeks of silence with your boys! Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Hey humbug25 I'm happy to see you posting agin, WOW a pollop in your throat my goodness how did you know it was there did you have throat pain? hope you dont mind my asking, I have a close friend that had some really bad throat pain and she was trying to figured why her throat hurt because it just started hurting out of the blue. Well its been a strange stressful week for me too it dosent compare to the week you must have had, but my week was rough I had a pipe burst my kitchen wall and hot water was leaking on the floor and maintenance had to repair the wall by taking part of the wall out and during that time my right leg got bitten by mosquitoes due to the naked wall, but thank goodness the wall is fixed now, well anyway I hope your doing much better now.

Hi apples99 What actually happened was that it was getting harder and harder for me speak properly and my voice was always croaky. It had been going for about 2 years but started to get really bad, so I thought it was time to get it sorted but I wasn't in any pain at all and I don't mind you asking at all. Your friend needs to get her looked at as soon as possible if she is experiencing pain. Sorry to hear you had a bad week though!! Thanks for your response as always apples

I'm pleased to see you back and I'm hearing you loud and clear Humbug. I can't think of anything recent. Although when I was 14 I tore a cartilage and was forbidden from playing sport for a term. That suited me as I wasn't very sporty then - or now!

Hi p1kef1sh If you are going to have to stop doing something for some time then it is lucky to have to stop doing something you don't particularly like doing!! One girl in hospital was having an op on her nose and had to have to take 2 weeks off work, that can't be bad can it? LOL Thanks for your response p1key

Welcome back, voice. I can think of two things. The first was when I was pregnant and I had to go off my Fibromyalgia meds. The second was recently I had to take all milk products out of my diet for 3 months. I love Mexican food and I can tell you it is nothing without cheese!!!

I certainly hope you & your son are doing fine now. Sorry u both had to go through what u did. When it rains it pours, doesn't it? I can't imagine w/three how u kept from talking, they had to be good, bless their hearts. after a couple of surgeries i was grounded for awhile from driving. Having to depend on somone else to do everything from me is a problem for me. I'm too independent. The last one was 4 years ago so it doesn't seem as bad now as it did then. U TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.
