Have to share with someone...

I am so happy! I have to share it with someone and my husband is currently at work, so I will share it with my fellow my lotters. I have been trying to lose weight for a while now. About 2 weeks ago I started telling my husband on how miserable I was feeling with my weight and I wanted him to push me to do something and motivate me. So at first I had him start with pushing me about running. I have always for some reason been embarrassed to run on the streets, cause of the fear of people staring at me and being a girl with a big chest bouncing all over the place. (Not trying to be rude but I have also found if I don't share my fear I won't conquer it.) Anyway, he pushed me and I started, in the past two weeks I ran a mile everyday except 3 nights. I stopped eating after 5/6 o'clock, drink plenty of water, and have stopped using regular sugar, I started using splenda, and if you know me, I Love my sugar. But in two weeks, I have lost 5 pounds! I am so happy! I needed to share it with someone. Thanks for listening.

I have a question. Were you able to run a mile the first time?

When I started my husband started timing me, (he put it on our fridge, lol) first time was 30 minutes, now I am down to 12 minutes and trying to do two miles now, but I not gonna over do it. I started doing a mile and a half the other day, 20 minutes. On my block they have the mailboxes on the street, I read for beginner runners to run one minute walk two, then gradually work your way up. I use the mailboxes as my guide. I walk from one to the next then run from the next. Now I run almost one whole block, still trying to conquer the hills. :)

That's fantastic. I have stopped snacking. I think that was my problem. Keep up the good work!

I tried the whole stop snacking thing also but I didn't work for me either. I actually now snack twice in the day, and only on fruits. My lunch at around 11 is usually a bowl of oatmeal (quaker oats has weight loss oatmeal, tastes like normal oatmeal), cause as my hubby says sticks to your ribs better and I don't get as hungry.

That is awesome! I would love to be able to run! I wish that my husband was supportive like yours. My husband would be the one to go and get snacks late in the evening and try to get me to eat with him! Great job, keep it up.

Thanks, my husband does that to me sometimes. With will power I tell him no. At first he didn't want to, but I think I made him feel guilty, I told him if he wants me to be happy then he will do it for me. (I know that is mean), but I also told him I just needed that push, now I just let him know when I am going, it feels even greater cause I got my 7, 9 and even my 3 year old running with me from time to time. I think that was all the push I needed.

Way to go!!! I say that in reference to your husband as well! It's wonderful to hear that a husband is being supportive of his wife's efforts to lose weight. Too many nights has mine offered me some kind of sweet treat at 9 or 10 pm. Should have been a DUH! answer for him. I admire you for running. I have that same fear of the big chest bouncing every where and being like a cartoon character, getting knocked out by them lol! Maybe some day I will conquer my fear and actually run outdoors! Thank you for sharing!!
