Now you may be wondering what that probably means...........well i feel there are many people who are really dedicated and try their best to reach to the top.......they have all the skills that they need, they have all the qualification that they may need......but still they never climb the ladder of success......and the ones who were far too behind them go ahead of them........what really went wrong then if they had all the things that fitted the bill........ The difference is they worked smart, they planned things, they knew their target well in mind, and hence they were there......some people know how to get their work done, they have the right policy to deal with people and to extract information....... so how do you really work, do you plan them well in advance or just keep doing things which are told to you...... Do you try to make an impression in the mind of your boss, do you try and be innovative???? How exactly do you work????? And what according to you is smart work?????

I work in construction and maintenance so I work both hard and smart. If I only work hard, then there are bound to be some errors in whatever I'm building, and if I only work smart, then a lot of the work won't get done because there is a lot of moving lumber around and it gets very tiring. According to me, hard work is doing the grunt work. It is moving things around and I always say that if you are not sweating, you aren't working hard enough. Working smart is making sure that all of the details match and everything is running smoothly. Like the boss of an office, they usually have to make sure that everything is going just right and they need to be smart about what they are doing for that to happen.

Oh yes, I almost forgot this part of the job, well i am from the hotel industry and sometimes even as managers you have to do a lot of running around, you just cant sit in one place and expect things to be done.....you have to sweat that out physically as well......i really liked the way you have mentioned about the combined effects of working hard and working smart, probably that's how it works in real life scenario........ Thanks for the response !!!!

I truly hope that I work smart, lol, but I am not always organized and on top of things so I can not be 100% sure.

For sure that i work smart, when i were very young i realy work hard, but now, when i have a lot of experience i work smart. This make difference, experience in life. I make all the time plans for tomorrow in my work, and this help a lot, because i make half of all work just when i make plans. Tomorrow i will know very well what i have to do, i don t weaste my time, in the morning just to think what i must to do. Routine help us a lot.

I think that I am more of "work smart" as I really did not do well when I was in college but I have still manage to finish my degree. At work, I always give what's more than expected. Run til tackled, remember that it is never the things you do that you regret, it's the one's that you don't.
