Intellectual Quotient -used to measure the brain intelligence. Intelligence/Intellect - is the capacities to reason, to plan, to solve problems, to think abstractly, to comprehend ideas, to use language and , to learn. Emotional Quotient - used to measure the emotional intelligence. Emotional Intelligence - is the abilities to identify, assess, and manage the emotions of oneself, of others and groups. Is there a real way to just reach into the brain and emotional faculties and measure intelligence?

Hi, Zearah. You started an intelligent(?) discussion..... Good impressive definitions for different types of intelligence. By the way, (well, another way of thinking), you tell other people the definition of intelligence, well, that`s the work of intelligent people to use language and to learn, so you are also intelligent. Okey, enough kidding. To the discussion, I would say there is no real way to reach into brain (ah, there are surgeries!!!) and emotional faculties and measure intelligence. Well, the idea or the method of measuring intelligence will certainly be devised by somebody (or a group) but it is possible that somebody else`s capabilities in some way are higher than those people(the group) and the method results in faulty conclusions. In abstract sense, god has granted us all with immense intellect and emotional capabilities that they are impossible to anticipate and measure. By the way, I didnot comprehend any ideas and I am just joking all this nonesense. So, I am not intelligent.

Hmmmm, intelligence is measured by the person itself, how would he knows that he's not intelligent if don't have the intelligence to know. Well whether you are intelligent or not as long as you can feel and sense, that makes it all. Thank you for participating here. Happy mylotting.

I am a idiot................ And I never doubt this statement.... I have noticed that intelligent people does forget things or do silly things as they are so busy in thinking always.. I am not a that type of a person... I am not too good in academics too...But I may have some emotional quotient.

Hmmmmm, but they say that intelligent person won't say she is. But saying that you've that EQ is same as telling you're intelligent!

This question would intimidate a lot of people so they would not respond. Those who think they are will feel the challenge and respond. And then, people like me who are not, can't resist saying something and prove they are the real fools. You are clearly intelligent. It is said that the fewer words spoken to convey the point reflects intelligence. I have never been accused of that. Great post and good information for us dummies.

One thing they might not have told you. The more you use your mind in learning or to focus, the smarter you will become. The greater capabilities you will have. So everyone is intelligent but some use it more.
