What is a clean beach you have been to on the East coast of the US?

What is the name of a clean beach you prefer going to on the east Coast of the US. No florida beaches please. I need to find a clean and comfortable beach for my family and I. We live in New Jersey so it would be nice to go to a beach thats 2 hours or less time to get to. What beaches do you like?

It's not within 2 hours of you, but Cape Hatteras National Seashore off of NC is a lovely, family friendly, clean beach. I've been going there for years!
