Its been a sizzling 95-110 degrees here every day for the past week and a half. Its so hard to find something to eat when it's so hot. Always looking for something cool, like fruit salads and cold sandwiches. What do you like to eat when its so HOT ???

I have to agree with you, fruit salads and cold cut sandwiches are my cure to eat when its hot out. Also when im not pregnant I love to throw some baileys, chocolate syrup and vanilla ice cream into the blender and drink away! That's my treat to beat the heat! :) Try it sometime, it's delicious!

So I just wanted to share with everyone that last night it was SOO hot out so after dinner my husband made me a peanut butter cup milkshake with a dash of baileys in it. It was soo good and cold. It was very refreshing to have! I hope everyone else found their way to keep cool yesterday if it was hot in your area. I know today it's supposed to get up to 112 degrees F. It's going to be a scorcher! ! ! :O... As always here in the Desert! BLAH! Im so over being pregnant and in this heat! Going to the pool to cool off isn't even fun anymore ( oh and by the way the pool is in my backyard. LoL ) Happy Mylotting and Stay CoOl

Once again Berlong, I really want your pool. Baileys sounds good too. I've been having mint juleps lately. The sugary sweetness and the iceyness is great! i was never a fan of mint or bourbon but I'm starting to really love the classic julep. I think I'm going to take a page from the book of Berlong though and find a way to turn it into a milkshake. Oh yeah, I baked a mint julep cake a few days ago. It was delicious.

Italian Ice is my favorite "cool off" treat when it is very hot outside. My mother used to take me to a little cart vendor at a local park that used to sell italian ice. She always got one for us on those really hot days. Now, I still have the urge to get an Italian ice on those hot, HOT days.

When it's hot in Indiana it's a scorcher! I like to cool down with yummy chilli dogs covered in cheese and hot peppers. i follow that up with some delicious ice cold "hard arnie palmers" (lemonade, ice tea, whiskey. Popsicles can be a little expensive for a snack because they are gone so fast. I like to economize and just but a big bag of those skinny little multi-colored freezer pops. The ones in the plastic tubes that you cut the top off of and then melt into tasty kool-aid like yummies. Freezer pops are even better when you take a giant bite and then top it off with some vodka, yummy I'm gettin dizzy!

seriously, just poor a little vodka into the freezer pop. It will get your juices running.

Ice cream of course! Especially chocolate chip or chocolate fudge! Nyum! Also, in Indonesia we have this new trend of eating frozen yogurt. It is so refreshing especially if we add fruit topping like kiwi or strawberry. It started when a new frozen yogurt store open called Sour Sally. Soon it became massive hit and until now, there is long queue everywhere this store opened

It's been very hot here too--mid 90's now. Fortunately we have air-conditioning, but it's still nice to eat something cold. I don't like to cook a lot and heat up the kitchen when its very hot out. We like cold fruit for a snack--like watermelon or cantalope. Sometimes I buy frozen mixed fruit and I'll thaw out a small amount and mix it with cottage cheese for a cold snack or lunch. Sometimes we have a cold salad plate---pasta or potato salad, along with chicken or tuna salad for a meal.
