A true story of what forgiveness can do...

I got a phone call tonight and was told this story. A man was convicted of molesting a child a long time ago.(like 12 years) There wasn't really much proof that he even committed the crime, but he served his time anyway. So no matter what, on paper, he is a convicted felon. He has to register any time he moves into a new neighborhood and does so. He and his wife bought a house about a year and a half ago. He regeistered in the neighborhood as a convicted child molester according to the law. A new family moved into this neighborhood... tonight his wife was just unloading the groceries out of the vehicle and this lady came driving by their house screaming at her. She then drove up into their driveway and started yelling that "God doesn't forgive sins like that!!!" ... the couple was devestated. You see, he found God while he was in prison but has found the Christian community lacking since he's been out and is toying with going back to the Mormon religion... He and his wife were really torn up, called the cops and filed and a cop who lives in the same neighborhood came to check on the situation.... The man bgan explaining to the cop that he had been convicted of this crime. The cop stopped him and said, "I already know that" then he told the couple to file a formal complaint so that if anything else happened there would be proof of this incident. So because they were so upset, they went to another neighbor's house and began telling them of the crime he was guilty of... they stopped him too and told him that they already knew and began to tell him of God's forgiveness and love and how they had already been praying for him... (this true Christian family has also been their friends since they have moved there) the man began to just break down and cry because he was moved by his friend's response given in true forgiveness.. Whatcha think?

"He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone" is the first thing that comes to my mind whenever I hear such stories. The Lord came to save sinners and not the self-righteous, the sick and not the strong. Without God's mercy and grace, protection and deliverance, no one can stand against temptations. May the merciful Lord continue to keep us and deliver us from temptations and from the evil one!

Yes sir, you are absolutely correct! We have all sinned and come short of His glory there is no doubt of that. All I can do is to keep my own heart pure and free from condemnation! That's a big enough job! I desire to have only His pure stream flowing through my life!
