Yes, Batman's latest movie the "Dark Knight"... where Heath Ledger played the villain and where he won an Oscar (i think or a Golden Globe) for best supporting actor... this movie is now considered as the second most successful movie of all time... Titanic being the number 1... Well... who else here in mylot has not seen this movie... because i haven't... and i consider myself a movie buff... am i the only one or are there other here like me?...

I have not seen this movie. But I am not a movie buff, either. Usually I only watch movies after the are on TV, and probably not then either. I tend to prefer old movies.

Yes, AmbiePam, absolutely. My first taste of Arsenic and Old Lace was live in a theatre in San Clemente, California in the sixties, and years later I saw the black and white movie several times. I like that sort of thing, and like you did not bother with Titanic. In college I used to volunteer as an usher in order to get in to see the visiting performers for free, and as an undergraduate the university I attended put on a free series of broadway hits as well. My favorite from that series was Man of La Mancha. I also went to see all of the French Department's Moliere productions. I wasn't a stellar French student, so I had to read the works ahead of time in order to have a clue what was going on, but it was well worth it.

Well, LOTR and the Dark Knight are not comparable. The two movies are good in their own ways... You really should watch it. Heath Ledger is astonishing in that movie. He really was a versatile actor!

I only saw part of it and it was on the movie channel, but that usually happens. The trouble is that when I do want to sit down and see it right throw, my husband who has seen it all the way through because he cannot move out of his chair with out help, will say "We already saw it."

Thanks for the response...

No, you arent' the only one. I have never seen The Dark Knight, and I never plan to. As much as I would like to see Heath Ledger's Oscar winning performance, I'm not going to. I have a couple of reasons why, but I don't want to bore you. I've also never seen the Titanic, which it seems everyone has also seen.

It's Heath Ledger's final finished film, and that makes me sad. Plus, I get annoyed because reviewers say it is a social commentary on the current state of the world. I don't want political opinions shoved down my throat. Although I'm sure if people don't read that they are supposed to be political opinions, they probably won't notice it. And finally, I cannot stand Maggie Gyllanhal (I know I misspelled that). I heard her say something after 9/11 that infuriated me, and don't plan to watch anything with her in it. Oh, and people reading this who disagree, that's fine. But please let's not start an argument, okay?

I'm no movie buff but, I do like watching movies every now and then.. I guess I hade too much on the 'then' part since its been a long time since I last watch a movie at the cinemas. I think my brother has already downloaded a movie but, I think its the first one.. uhmm I mean not the very first one but.. hmm, how should I put it, the first one that got recently released? Was that "Batman Begins?" Anyway, I haven't watched that too so, I have also not watched "Dark NKnight" Maybe I'll consider watching that one of these days.. I would really like to watch it since, it looks like one among the decent Batman movies that I know.. unlike the other Batmans before.. (^_^")

I've seen it, I think within the first week of its release, LOL.. I think those that do not watch this particular movie would be those that do not like action-pack genre types and those that do not like fiction movies like Spiderman, Batman and whatnot.. It's a great movie. You should give it a try..

Thanks for the response...

It's my pleasure, my friend.. You are right, this one is poignant because it was the last acting by the late Heath Ledger.. That was sad news, really..

my sister got a dvd of Dark Knight as a gift last Christmas so i did got a chance to see the movie. on dvd of course. i think it was the second most watched movie because a lot of people wanted to see how Heath Ledger did on this movie, but i dont believe in myself that it was the most successful movie. well this is only my opinion of ocurse you might love the movie. i can say that i enjoyed more with the batman begins than watching the dark knight. hope you can see this so we can sompare notes.

The success of the movie is partly because they want to see the last full movie that Heath Ledger made... i will try to borrow Dark Knight to see if it is really better than Batman Begins... that is like my second favorite batman movie... the first is the one with Catwoman and Penguin... Thanks for the response...

Hello aseretdd, I have yet to watch that movie. So, like MJ said before.... You are not alone! The difference is that I am not really a movie buff and always late in everything well, when you talk about movies. I heard that it's a good movie. My son likes the Batman though...

I have watched the movie in the theaters 2 days after its release. It's a very good movie. And Heath Ledger's performance was really superb. Too bad he was not around anymore to reap the fruit of his superb acting. The movie is visually dynamic. The sounds almost banging to your heart. But nonetheless it was a great movie. It deserves all the positive reviews and remarks its getting.

I've seen the movie. And while I admit it's a great film, I find it to disturbing to watch again. I just don't enjoy watching it the way I do some of the other batman movies. The performances are good. It's dark the way Batman is supposed to be. I did really enjoy Batman Begins.

Well, even if Titanic is a great film... i only watched it once... and i don't plan to ever watch it again... i got depressed after watching it the first time... and i never want to feel that way again... well, i agree that Batman films should have this dark mood... just like how they did it in Batman Begins... Thanks for the response... welcome to mylot and i hope you enjoy every minute of your stay here...

Hi there Aseretdd! I haven't seen the movie too. I love watching movies but not Batman ones and also even if I wanted to see it, I would have to wait till a movie is released in DVD before I can since I have mentioned on some of my previous "movies" post, we don't have a decent movie house near our area. I heard that it's a great movie but I don't have any first hand experience since I haven't seen it yet.

To keep this short and simple I believe if you havenot yet seen the Dark Knight then you are missing out on perhaps the best superhero movie to be made till date . Without a moments thought the first thing you should do is to go to a video parlour and rent it asap. I have watched the movies three times in the plexes and I enjoyed it every single time.
