Candle Wax or Gel

I have tried several different types and brands of candles. When they first came out with the Gel Candle I thought that be great. However when I tried one it burned up quicker than the normal wax candle. Now I need your input. Was it always that way or did I get a bad Gel Candle?

I love candles and used to light "real" ones quite frequently, rosepedal64. *smile* Not only are they homey & cozy, but they can also make your place smell great. Plus some of them can also provide extra/ample/or enough lighting when needed in certain areas, so a person can save a little money on the electric bill. Which I so love to do when it's possible. A few Christmases (sp?) ago, my brother bought me & our folks some battery operated candles - vanilla scented, one of my faves. Have you ever heard of those? They are SO great especially bcuz there's no fire risk for one thing. Leave 'em on ALL nite long & unattended, till the batteries wear out. *lol* But yes, about your question regarding Gel candles. Sorry it took me so long to get to get there. Even though I "think" I still have one - which didn't work right or something - and should really throw away, bcuz I don't or haven't used it. But also I don't intend to use it or any other gel candles, ever. Even though it was quite a few years ago when I bought mine, afterwards a neighbor friend who is also into candles, told me how she had heard/read where they were unsfe & could possibly pose a fire hazard... something about the gel stuff maybe being extra flamable. Then I remember how I had also heard something on the news. Think it was Glade gel? firefox333

Thanks for the BR rosepedal. Was also glad to read where you got a full refund for the one gel candle you returned to the store. Perhaps you can eventually find some of the battery operated kind. Bet you would enjoy them. Take care, firefox333

They really ARE a real product. *smile*... Hang on a sec, I'll get the one box I saved from the Christmas gift my brother gave me. It has a website on it, maybe you could check them out! This link should be allowed, because it's only about product info. http://www.candleimpressions.net

hey that's a thought. A battery operated candle with the aroma of your choice. Maybe I can start that up. What you think? HaHa

I prefer wax candles. I think I have ever only tried maybe one or two gel ones, but I wasn't that impressed with them. It was a while ago, so I don't recall if they didn't burn very long or not, just that I didn't like them as well.

I believe they are still on the market. I guess the company that came up with this ideal still thinks they are wonderful. I think I will try to find a website for them and send them an email about their not so wonderful product.

I agree they burn quick and form a well that doesn't even remotely use the amount of wax in the container. I think they are a waste
