What major (or concentration) are you/ did you study in college? Did you double-major? Did you have a minor? Is it because it interests you, is practical, or both?

Well,I major in mechanical engineering in university.I have a lot of courses to go everyday so I don't think it is wise to choose a second major. However, some of my classmates are more interested in computer programming or car engineering. Most probably they will learn these subjects in their spare time.Actually,I think I can learn a lot from my major. You know,to become a good mechanical engineer today,I have to learn a lot.Not only machine, but also automation, computer technology, electrotechnics, metalworking and so on.So there are graudates in my major who can do other jobs well, not only in mechanical area, because they have learn a lot in university through their hard work. Hope this can give you some help.Thanks.

Hello Anna, I went to the University as an engineering graduate and I am happy to say that I am passing out this month as an Electrical Engineer. However, I am more interested in the IT sector hence I will be joining an IT firm shortly. Cheers!

Hi Anna, when I started my degree course I chose to study English literature, but for the first year we could choose two other subjects to study alongside it, maybe to give an opportunity to change courses if one held more interest. So for the first year I also studied history and philosopy. There was no option then to study two subjects for a final degree unless it was an established course you had applied for. It was hard to drop history in the second year but gave me the chance to focus on my degree subject only.
