There's a sentence about the song "The game of love" of Santana, I wonder what's the mean of "up to bat". Someone thought it means "bear" or "endure"; and someone thought it means "consider" or "think over". I don't know which one is right, or both wrong.

The phrase "up to bat" is a baseball term. It means it is your turn to bat, or rather to hit the ball. So basically it means, it's your turn to play the game. So if you are "up to bat" at love, it's your turn to try to hit the ball - it's your turn to play the game and try to win.
