Are Uggs "in" where you live?

Are Uggs in where you live? In case you don't know..Uggs are uber-expensive, tall boots - usually made out of sheepskin - that are enormously popular in Minnesota - especially at the University of Minnesota. I live in Minnesota, as I said, and girls CANNOT get enough of them; winter, summer, spring, and fall. With mini-skirts, jeans, shorts, whatever. I personally don't like this fashion sense at all - and I would NEVER pay $180 for a pair of boots. Perhaps this is just me. I find this fashion sense a little funny, and I once heard that in places like Florida - Uggs are WAY "out". Is this true? Are girls ridiculously obsessed with Uggs where you live? Or are they an out-dated trend? I'd love to hear your opinions as well! And don't forget to tell me what country/state/city you live in!

If you live somewhere where it snows, they are great but I live in arizona, we have no snow and girls look absolutely ridiculous wearing their uggs with skirts and a tank top because it's only 70 in the winter. Haha, I think clothing should have function as well as fashion.

YES. Where I live in Charlotte, North Carolina everyone wears these boots! It isn't year round like you say it is there but mostly in the winter when it is cold. I personally like the boots but I don't want to pay $180 for a pair of BOOTS.

You can always buy what I call "fuggs" - fake (brand) Uggs. I don't know if you live in a place where there's a Target (or likewise department store), and they usually sell similar styles of boots for like $20 during the winter.

i've never seen anyone wearing uggs here (philippines). i want one but yeah, it's too expensive. plus i live in a tropical country and it's overkill to wear sheepskin boots

I've seen very few Uggs here in Maine, I believe there are so few because so many young people graduate from college and leave this state, because of the lack of jobs and high taxes.

Yes uggs were very popular for this years 2008 Winter in Canada, as with probably every country in the world. Even though I'm not a female, I found that they were very popular with the ladies everywhere! I didn't know they were that expensive $180 for the boots, but like every year's trend it tends to be over priced stuff.I remember the fad of crocs, which cost 30$ for a pair of plastic! I really didn't think they looked good, but with Uggs, they look simple yet but very appealing.

yup they are in now here too. i am in ontario and oddly enough, i see people wearing them in the heat of july! my daughter bought a pair last fall with her own money and really loved them. the fall stuff is just coming out now, so we will see what fashion dictates for this fall.
