Today on my job i was presented with a small gift of a $6.00 Blockbuster gift card, 2 coke colas, and a bag of popcorn. It even had a thank you card that read our event would not have been successful without your help thanks so have a movie date night with your wife. You know it isn't the size of the gift that matters rather it is the thought behind the gift that truly matters.WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU TOLD SOMEONE THANK YOU?

Today I told someone thank you when they helped me find something at work. I actually say thank you a whole lot. I always try to let people know that I'm thankful for the things they do for me and thus, I hope people appreciate the things that I do for them too. What your friends did for you was a very generous thing to do. They must really appreciate you and your hard work.

There have been many times that I have been told Thank You and it is a great thing to happen. I know being told thank you makes my day so much better. The last time someone told me Thank You was when I informed them of something they really needed to know. A lot of times just a Thank You in an Email or text message is great, but when it comes from another person in the form of a hug that makes me feel even better as well.

KrauseHome, I know exactly what you mean, it does make me feel great especially since I made such a big mistake on that particular event anyway. But God worked out all of the details for me and in the end, everyone was HAPPY!

i am a thank you person, i also say excuse me and sorry if i hurt someone when walking or some incident i am not aware of. but sometimes it hurts me when people does not say those words when they need to say it. there are person who does not say anything at all after cutting you inline on a grocery or after asking something or instructions. but i am a courtesy word person and i teach that to my children as well.

Those people are usually just having a bad day or are in some sort of hurry. I can understand that as I've been in a hurry and having been having a good day sometimes. But being polite and kind is apart of my upbringing. Thank you for participating in this discussion.

That's great. Once I thanked my boss that I worked for at the age of 16 for training me on the different aspects of being a manager. I was around 27 when I did that. He appreciated it. Thanks for your response.

I tell people thank you many times a day. I do it with a smile almost all of the time. I also work with people who say thank you often, and for the simplest thing. It seems to breed a mind set of thankfulness, at least for me.

I agree, GardenGerty, thanks for responding. Things sure have changes a bunch at the other site. Which is why "i've" been a little more active here.

Well, I guess it was when I got a fish sandwich from the lady at the McDonald's drive thru window this afternoon. But if you're talking about someone close to me, it would be my dad. I was at his house this afternoon when he came home. I hugged him and thanked him for being a good dad.

I enjoy when my kids give me hugs as well. Especially whenever I've cooked something that they liked eating. It's soooo heartwarming. I bet your dad feels the same.

Just a little while ago when I thanked the girl at the supermarket checkout for my change. you are quite right, it isnt the size of a gift that counts, it the realisation that someone appreciates you and your efforts.

I always say thank you. The last time I said thank you was last night. My dad cooked me dinner. It was fried chicken with mashed potatoes and was soo good. He hasn't cooked that in a long time.

I try to make an effort to be thankful to those that are helpful to me. Even in public at the store I will say thank you to the workers that are there. I think being nice to people around you is imporant and being thoughtful is a great way to go instead of always being mad at everyone in your day! Take care and happy mylotting to you.
