2010 is fast approaching. you know what that already means for the filipinos right? yes you got it right! it's election time! by this time the lineups of parties from their presidentiables to the barangay officials will woo the voting public to choose them. promises will fly like arrows grazing through both the informed and the gullible. they will court you, promise you the moon, and ask for your support. you know how this works, right? now that election time is near i'd like to hear your opinion. do you believe that the next election will be a fair one? or will it be like all the elections we've had in the past. will it be another case of history repeating itself? or will it be redemption for the filipino people?

The Philippines' 2010 elections will be back to manual voting instead of the proposed poll automated system earlier this year. Regardless of the voting system, I believe that those who has the desire of, the benefits of, and machinery to conduct cheating will still cheat. As cliche goes, "If there's a will, there's a way."There's a threat that the 2010 elections won't push through. By July 28, 2009, after PGMA's SONA by July 27, the Bicameral System will resume its work. By passing the House Resolution 1109 (Constitutional Assembly), only the congressmen will have the power to decide and make laws in the Philippines. The senate will lose its power. GMA already confirmed that she will run as a congressman for Pampanga. She sure railroaded her entrance in the Congress because through the Constitutional Assembly, the congressmen can push CHA-CHA through and that way, ONLY THE CONGRESSMEN CAN VOTE ON THE PRIME MINISTER POST. Majority of the Congress' composition today is of the Partido LAKAS-KAMPI, GMA's party. Because of this, when CHA-CHA was pushed through, GMA can become the Prime Minister. We can't vote in the 2010 if Constitutional Assembly is passed. But if the CONASS isn't passed, YES, we sure can vote and we must vote for those who upholds the interest of the people and their country and not their own interest.

i learned a lot from your reply. i was almost so sure that there will be elections this 2010. i never went into the ConAss bandwagon because i believe that it will never push through. if indeed it will, then i would be really surprised. i believe that it's too premature for the filipino people to shift into the prime minister type of government. and the timing is also very fishy. if they really wanted a consititutional change, it should have been done earlier. furthermore, i don't think that gloria is the best person to be leading in such a huge transition. she should just step down and let the next president decide if there should be a ConAss.

I don't think if the 2010 election is fair? We all know that politicians is always doing anything to win the race. Election on 2010 can be bloody because as of the time goes on politicians are busy to prepare for their plan to run the elections. Even those aspiring candidates, will prepare for possible war not for possible elections to be contest... We don't know what is going on in our country. This is a country that we can make everything but we can do nothing...The real problem in our country is not the Abu Sayyaf, the MILF, the New Peoples Army...but those politicians that make trouble in our country. They create their own enemy...I don't believe if there is no political connections of those Abu-Sayyaf and the New people's Army? There are three problems in our country. 1. Politicians 2. Poverty and the 3. Government implementation of Law

Our election next year is a triumphant event for us Christian. Why? because I have a big faith in God that He will really moves in this election. God will make a way to ensure the best of his winner. The Lord wants the Philippines to be a blessed nation and it will happen only when the leader of a nation is a righteous one. The righteous leader exalts the nation. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. God loves the Philippines and year 2010 is the beginning year of being America of Asia. Praise God!

Filipinos will be more excited about the automated polls I guess. And that would be a good start or as you said a redemption for the Filipino people. It is a known fact that losers in the election will always say they were cheated but I always thought it has been a part of the system. Unless they found a way to cheat with those computers, it will always be a case of history repeating itself.

Hi I dont think so, they said 2000 will be the best and PL PL PL things will happen and ppl will have the best in all PL PL but nothing happened, it is the same if not worse. I thin 2010 is just another year like any other, it is just a time we might or might not be around but change can not happen over night... Thanks for the post

There will be less cheating with the automation system and it will be faster. What will be rampant is vote buying since the crocodiles cannot cheat the system.. They should monitor those candidates who will buy votes..

It's a bit hard to tell, but I am hoping that things will work out just fine especially with all the pre-election efforts that organizations, the media, and a lot of people are giving.

I don't think there would be a fair election. technologies would enter and automation seems like the best way to make this election easier for those people who really want to win and take people's right and resources for the self good. I hate those politician.
