I know of some people who still have bad breath no matter how they brush their teeth. Do you know that bad breath not only comes from teeth, but is an internal problem? It may due to your stomach is not well. Or it may also be because you did not brush your tongue. Reasons for bad breath are endless. It is a habit of mine when I brush my teeth, I need to brush my tongue too. Some people say it might cause your tongue to lose its sensitivity, but I dont care! I just cant live without brushing my tongue. How about you? Do you brush your tongue?

Yes, my mom said that too! I do brush my tongue and then I use my tongue cleaner after brushing. I also found that of you leave your mouth without eating any food for long you'll have bad breath again.

You brush your tongue and clean it again with tongue cleaner? Wow, your tongue must be super clean. I find that I need to drink lots of water to keep my breath fresh. Water is important.

Yes I do. It is automatic for me every time I brush my teeth. My parents always made sure we did as children and the habit has carried over into adulthood.

I really cannot stand the bad breath.. Thats why,I prefer cleaning my tongue regularly. It is a compulsory activity for me. Same is here too, when I brush my teeth, I clean my tongue too. I never heard of tongue losing its sensitivity due to cleaning..It is a good habit I think.

Hello, yes I also brush my tongue. I started doing that a long time ago. Possibly after I got braces when I was in junior hight school.I got into the habit of brushing my teeth right after meals. It was disgusting when I had to wear braces and I didn't brush my teeth .The brushing of my tongue had to have been when I got braces.

Hello, Bad Breath is could cause many things, such as you don't floss, or dont brush enough, or dont brush your tongue. I always brush my teeth then tongue and then raise with mouth wash to make my whole mouth clean. always raise your mouth right after you eat each meal... it helps your teeth clean from those food stuck in your teeth before you brush.

I don't clean my tongue daily but once or twice in a week. I don't use brush to clean my tongue but i use tongue cleaner. Yes you are right. The reason for bad breath is not because they are not cleaning their teeth. It depends on various other reasons.

I don't, but I would not worry about losing your sensitivity. Most dentists recommend that you do brush your tongue.

That's really interesting. I never knew you could get bad breath from not brushing your tongue! That's fascinating. It's been a habit ever since I was young to brush my tongue whenever I brushed my teeth. That's just how I was raised and my mother always made me, I never really understood why. I guess it's just one of those things that get internalized even though you're not sure why!

For me, it's not complete when I brush my teeth without brushing my tongue. I have that feeling that my mouth is not thoroughly cleanse. It's good that your mom raised you to brush your tongue. I've been helping my little boy to brush his tongue since he was very very young too.

Yes, I did brush my tongue too like how you did whenever brushing the teeth for twice a day. If I don't brush, I find the pinkish tongue covered up with a layer of yellowish white top, which looks so yucks and taste sour when we are not eating. Brushing the tongue with tooth brush is normal now. In those olden days, I saw my granny use a metal bending stick to scrub the tongue. I think it is painful and can really spoilt the taste sensitivity.

First of all, let me say that I love the bear in your avatar. Secondly, I know what you meant when you said bout your granny using that metal thingy. I saw my Mom using that when I was younger. Now, toothbrush is sufficient. It gets the work done nicely.

I do brush my tongue at times when I have ample of time in my hand. My husband - brushing tongue is a compulsory.. Yes, I heard about that theory too - about bad breath and its cause. Drinking yoghurt drink is good for our intestine and stomach because yoghurt drink contains billions of good bacteria.

You only brush your tongue at times when you have ample of time in hand? How long does it take to brush your tongue? To me, I cant finish off my oral routine until I've brush my tongue. It wont be complete without it. Yes, I love yoghurt too. Heard it is good for us, but I'll drink it if it is bad for us anyway coz I just simply love it!

Toothbrushing for me won't be complete withouth brushing my tongue. I feel my mouth is so clean after I brush my tongue. Also, it improves my appetite so I don't believe it lessens the tongue's sensitivity. And, I totally agree it lessens bad breath!

It improves your appetite? Wow, that's first time I heard it, and I think that's good. I guess the cleanliness in your mouth makes it nicer to enjoy your food hence improving the appetite rite? I like the clean feeling too.

I don't actually brush my tongue. I just scrub it with the rough back of my toothbrush. Brushing may scrape my tongue tissues, and I don't want that to happen. There are some people who do not brush their teeth very often/regularly yet they don't have halitosis. And yes even if you brush your teeth, there will still a bad smell coming from the breath. That happens to me too, so I take mint candies after brushing.
