Potty regression? or ??

My almost 4yo has been potty trained since she was 2 all on her own. I decided 3 weeks ago we needed to work on asking to use the "big" potty (I keep the potty locked because of DS (1yr) & I don't trust them in the bathroom not to be messing around) and put away our little potty. So now we are having accidents left and right because she won't ask to use the potty. She will stand there and just pee her pants like a lo who's training would.Whereas if the little potty was out she'd go when she wanted when she needed and didn't have to ask. I don't know if I should just give her the little potty back and assume all will fall into place when she starts half days school or ??? She'll need to ask teacher to use the potty when she's in school and they don't have the lil training potties there so she has to use a "big potty" so I wanted her to work on this before school started. WWYD?

I would leave the little potty out in order to avoid accidents, but I'd encourage her to use the big potty a few times a day with help. What does she do when you're out in public and she has to go? With my 3 yo he didn't take well to the little potty, so I got him one of those seats that goes on the big potty. He should be starting preschool this fall and I worried the same thing about him because he won't sit on our potty without his seat. In public you have to hold him on the potty a particular way, his fanny has to be touching part of the seat or he feels uncomfortable. Thankfully he did start (all on his own) standing to pee, so that eliminates that problem. Not having his seat with him when he's in preschool will only be a problem when he has to go #2... perhaps by the time school starts he'll have gotten over that little problem.

I ended up putting out the lil potty again. She has been using the big potty more here in the house like right before her bath. She does fine in a public stall, no troubles. I also usually pick the handicapped stall so she can sit on the side of the seat and hold on to the supports wich keep her from falling in ;0) I hope she'll do ok with asking to go Hopefuly your son will be fine w/ the #2 issue. Or just hold it untl he's home perhaps? I'd probably send an extra set of bottoms just in case. Our 4k asks for an outfit just incase there is an accident.

it sounds like she's intimidated by the big toilet. if she doesn't have those lil' steps for the big one,you might try that. maybe some of those pull-ups pants?

She'll use it when she wants to. She's beyond pull ups she knows what to do she just used to the convience of her lil potty.

I have a daughter but she is not at that stage yet.. Maybe you should try one of those potty toilet training seats thats sit on top of the actual big potty and see what happens from there. And also just have her tell you when she has to go potty and then eventually she'll just start going on her on again. Well I hope this helps.

I wouldn't mind the potty seat on the top if they had their own potty but hose are PITA's to put on and off.
