1 man can download thousands of movies and get away with it. Another man can download 1 movie illegally and the next thing that happens is the swat team storming youre house and ruining everything and to make things even worse you are forced to pay a copyright of 10 million dollars (an amount they just made up to punish you and the other man they diddnt bother with). And to make things even they worse theyll take away youre job and everything you own and still have a massive amount to pay back. In conclusion people who do massive against copyright never gets hurt and people who do something just once gets serverely punished and something like this happens all over the world. My conclusion is theyll hit two flies in one hit. they wont bother with the criminal but the person who does 1 criminal offence so they take the man who does one illegal thing and the money the criminal would have to pay and then the man with one criminal offence gets to pay it all. My conclusion is the whole carelesness all they worry about is that the criminal needs help and probably dont have any money to pay it back. But they miss the point on the good person cuz he woont have money to pay it back either thus it shows the police stupidness and carelesness

I agree with it too. But remember something else. Maybe, possibly the man who downloaded thousands of movies did it to watch it for free, rather than pay for it. The other guy not only downloaded to watch it for free, but thought, you know what? I'll bet Ron, Kevin and Jeremy would like this movie too. they're my friends, I'm going to send it to them. Most people who get caught and get in from sharing, not for keeping it confined to their own computer.

its the opposite a man who downloads tons of stuff is more likely to share with others and a man downloading something once is just to watch it freely and then remove it

Yes you are right. Sometines it does happen as you mention. As in a case i know, a person who was a genuine follower of law just happend to download a song from the internet and was caught by the Cops. How unlucky of him! Such things depend on luck at times. Things go against our perception and we fall into wrong deeds at wrong time. Such cases are due to Bad luck.

I think you Americans are too allergic to the copyright. As my point of view, as long as these stuffs are not for commercial use, it doesn't matter. By the way, I am studying in Europe and I get all my teaching materials from the copy mechines in the street. Normally our professors put their teaching materials to these places in advance and inform the students to fetch them. These materials are combination of parts from different books or even it is not surprise that it is the copy of a whole book. Once an American student questioned if it violated the copyright, however, it is very usual and normal in my university.

It is interesting to see how things like that work. It's better just to not take the risk, if you ask me. He shouldn't have been downloading illegal movies. He should just get Netflix for $5 a month.

The cunning professional people who illegaly downloader will rarely get caught. It is the poor little guy who will be pounced on so that he can be made an example of and be reported in the newspapers to discourage people from illegally downloading. Probably the police have little option, If they get a complaint about illegal downloading then they have to investigate it.
